I follow your key assumptions, plus it looks like the project will build up a cash buffer over the first 6 months, in case there’s a shortfall of project revenue after month six, which was my main concern. I guess if the project isn’t self funding within the first year, we’ll revisit future funding as a group.

-I know voters are required to do their own DD but given there is a commission share and that it is on a platform endorsed and funded by the DAO, I am guessing this will need some legal review to make sure on KYC/Qualified investor type issues

KYC Implementation

• Project founders would need to be KYCed
• This mitigates project risks factors; limits fraud due to hiding of identity
• In the past, Animoca Brands used Blockpass in 2021 and in Otherdeed launch
• This means many of ecosystem holders can use the same login of Blockpass to verify

Project by project basis

• Initial Dex Offering (IDO): participants would need to be KYCed.
• Initial NFT Offering (INO): it depends on the their regulatory registration and nature of offering for the requirement. Forj Launchpad only conducted INOs in 2022.
• Past Example: Cool Cats FC (https://ccfc.coolcatsnft.com), powered by Animoca Brands, One Football and Cool Cats sold the NFTs as commodity. It does not require KYC for NFT minting.

Following the best practice

• Animoca Brands and Forj have compliance officers to provide the project with guidance on the need of KYC to participate for the NFT sales
• Horizen Labs team has a close relationship with Animoca Brands and Forj. We will inquire about these upcoming projects to follow the best practice.

It’s been 2 months since our proposal

The community support has been overwhelming. The December BAYC IP map is going to update in 1.5 weeks.

We’d appreciate ApeCoin DAO @Pearson to speed up the voting process.

I’m really feeling this AIP. It feels like an SBA(Small Business Administration - IRL government agency) specifically for our ecosystem. HUGE potential here!

Q: wold the Accelerator be funding projects as well? Like SBA loans?

We have a network of funds and launchpad partners; these are the funds that focus on early stage, pre-seed to seed projects. To name a few, Binance Labs, Animoca Ventures, OKX Ventures, Polygon Studio actively investing in this market.

Cohort in the Ape Accelerator gets support include capital support, mentorship, and access to a network of industry experts and potential investors. The Ape Accelerator is committed to supporting and growing the promising projects to advanced Web3 IP.

To give you another example. for the Cool Cats investment made by Animoca Brands, our subsidiary Gamee has made an announcement for a Christmas game. This is the network effect we aim to realize in our upcoming cohorts.

• The report has generated 130k+ impression last 2 days
• It provided many new and existing projects exposure
• It took days and nights to get this organized. The report recognize builders monthly and show BAYC’s community resilience in crypto winter.
• Alone we can do little but together we can do so much

Next steps

Really look forward the pass of this AIP. We have more projects we can support to drive mass adoption of Web3 IP through project coordination that would result in network effects.
