The mission statement I’ve proposed takes the complex vision stated by the ApeCoin founders on the ApeCoin website, and synthesizes it into a simple, single sentence, capturing ApeCoin’s potential. -

With a simple mission statement that concisely captures ApeCoin’s potential, the DAO will have more consensus on the objectives we need to achieve so that ApeCoin’s can meet its potential.
These should include milestones relating to cultural relevance, metaverse presence, and web3/blockchain gaming integrations.

Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, I leaned heavily into translating the DAO’s existing vision statement into a clear and actionable mission statement.
Vision Statement
Culture has found new expression in web3 through art, gaming, entertainment, and events. The possibilities for blockchain’s impact on culture are so endless that they can’t possibly all be predicted yet. APE is a token made to support what’s next, controlled and built on by the community. It will serve as a decentralized protocol layer for community-led initiatives that drive culture forward into the metaverse.

ApeCoin DAO can be seen as a development DAO, turning various ideas into reality. We’ve funded ideas varying from giving licenses of the ApeCoin logo to creating eco-friendly rugs to prizes in Hackathon; anything that helps expand the $APE to the general audience and beyond.

The DAO is not here to instruct, assign, or prescribe, only to connect and empower. The mission statement also reminds us that - while we most often meet and communicate in the metaverse - IRL culture and connections are the glue that binds APE community together.
