Kind Regards,
Thanks for your proposal @BoredClubCanada @FUDmaster & @BoredApeG. I can definitely see benefits to doing it this way.
That being said, there are a few other factors to keep in mind. Firstly, like @Vulkan pointed out, the number of Live AIPs has been increasing over recent months. Additionally, months with five Thursdays could result in a three-week gap between some votes, potentially leading to more proposals being up for vote in the following month.
Moreover, as per AIP-138: The Special Council Election Process, no other AIPs will be up for a vote during Candidate elections for the Special Council. If these elections happen to fall on the third Thursday of the month, it could further increase the number of proposals during the following voting period.
Considering these factors, there’s the possibility of increased voter fatigue due to a high number of proposals some weeks. What measures could be put in place to prevent this and ensure that all AIPs receive fair consideration?
Thanks again for your proposal, and I look forward to your reply!
Thanks for the feedback AA! In my personal view, the advantage gained by AIP authors with longer campaign/voting periods far outweighs the risk of potential voter fatigue. IMO one of our biggest issues at the moment is an uninformed voter, and this would give authors more time to reach out to voters and delegations. I faced this time-crunch issue myself for the APE staking AIPs when I could not reach voters in Mocaverse - even when they realized themselves they would be the only large vote against the 3 AIPs, it was too late to get their voters in a room to reconsider. One-week is truly a tight deadline for an author especially now as the number of delegations have increased and they all have varying ways to reach their delegates, in addition to more active individual voters.
I also like @AllCityBAYC’s take with potentially making the bi-monthly voting periods more event-like. Case in point, consolidating our voting period to twice a month will also help to encourage delegations to calendar specific times/spaces to hear from AIP authors, something a few of the large delegates have already started to discuss. Imagine actually getting in front of multiple large delegations formally at the same time? It’s effectively non-existent now - it’d be an authors’ dream!
Lastly, this is in the spirit of experimentation around the DAO. If this passes yet the DAO finds it does not work well in a few months, we could always put up a quick AIP to revert it back
Hi ApeCoin DAO Community,

Thanks for writing this up.
There could be a middle ground solution. AIPs are put up 1 week before they can be voted on so that the AIP author has 1 week to lobby BEFORE voting is open for that AIP.
Voting every two weeks is more efficient from an internal DAO management perspective, but it is harder for voters to follow. Knowing it is every week the same time makes it easier for voters to have a rhythm of voting.
