AIP-444: Growing Wellness: Home Harvest’s billion dollar opportunity to improve the way we live & eat, powered by grow2earn

Interesting.

Can you tell me how many ion the team have next degrees:

Engineering
Medical Doctorate
Doctorate in Nutrition
Technological Security Certifications
OSHA members
Contract Audits pros

How are you planning to work with the side L3 token if its not an actual apecoin? When you deploy from layer zero the Arbitrum mind not support your token at all.

Why only 3 communities selected instead of All Apecoin holders? We can just airdrop apecoin to everyone ourselves and thats it.

How can you grow food inside mini NY or Hong Kong apartments where most people live and they have kitchen sink next to the door (as example) and barely a space to a bed or just had one shelf to live and bed on it within a micro fridge inside? Are yopu planning to rent extra space for them? (that would be cool)

In so many spaces i herd that people prefer digital collectible because they don’t have space to hung paintings or store things at their current space. Does this make you think on how to engage them?

Do you test soil?

What materials are used to build the incubator?

How do you plan to harnest electricity for its funccionality and do you care where it comes from?

Thank you

I think there is something in this idea , just need more deep dive into actual functionality , consulting capability & how things actually will work ones its build with chain. Meanwhile we cant focus on very narrow demographic, the most zero energy will be teaching the people using garden with fresh air by certified gardeners on tested soil by the cities and dedicated to it.

It’s a very well designed proposal. I’m new to apecoin and just saw it. I really like the overall proposal. My question would relate to the IP (I’m a lawyer) and to the “grow to earn” elements (which interests me a lot). I love “grow to earn” as a concept. As an early Klima user who witnessed the crazy price volatility, my question is about the “degen” nature of how an altcoin ($grow) would have value. Also, if someone buys a unit for under $500, approximately how long would it take them to make back their money in grown vegetables? I understand that better quality, fresher, organic, etc. is a selling point, but I feel like that’s secondary to this being economically sustainable.

I know we’re coming up on 2 months since this was first proposed.

Is there an update that can be provided to the DAO on the progress here?

Hey @VonFrontin ,

We have been awaiting review from the team and they sent over a list of questions (5 days ago) which we have now fully responded to. Hoping that there will be a full update shortly and we can take this to vote in the near future.

gm @DavidW ,

Thanks for your feedback. In response to your 2 main questions:

  • How will $GROW have / maintain value: We also believe that the grow 2 earn concept is a powerful addition to the Home Harvest proposition. Not basic loyalty points or the chance of an occasional 5% off; this is a real opportunity to earn income from living healthily and to also cover the costs of your subscription by active involvement. There is a load more detail on page 52 of the attached IM document.

  • How long will it take to recoup the initial investment in the unit: Payback on unit is 12 months or less assuming like for like products / volume. (Includes unit cost, monthly subscription and energy cost). Further detail can be found on page 32 of the attached IM document.

gm @TheFatherOfAllStorms ,

Many thanks for your comments. Have you had a chance to look through the IM document? Most of these points are covered within this (such as our credentials, demographics we are aiming at, energy consumption etc).

Will be happy to jump on a call and present this if you would like to chat in more detail.

Thanks @wedge .

I hope we can understand why it’s taken so long to get to the list of questions.

My comments are both for your benefit (let’s get your AIP to a vote and, if passed, get you funded) but also to the state of the AIP process as I want us to be able to attract top quality builders in the space, and I believe a speedy and transparent AIP process is part of that.

Good luck with the rest of the process. Can’t wait for this to come to a vote.

gm @DavidW ,

A couple of the team have come back with some further points around this:

ALL tokens are volatile early on, and include some level of risk, this is also why the potential upside is bigger. What we have done to counteract volatility, as much as possible, are conservative vesting schedules, a comprehensive liquidity strategy and incentives to lock up tokens for a long period of time. Our aim is that the token is significantly less “degen” than others, as we have strong long-term monetary and fiscal policies, to help the project grow after the initial phase, such as token burning and the replenishment of rewards.

There is also a strong loyalty program that incentivises people to stick around. Vis-a-vis making back your investment in a unit vs sustainability - we started with sustainability in mind.

Thanks for the update! Good to know.

This feels like one of the more ambitious proposals which is exactly what we should be looking to fund. Genuine impact and business, with a solid team. Feels incredibly well thought out. I love the business model and tie into web3, $Grow feels ambitious, and you can see the potential if it’s executed well. I like the way funding it’s broken down into stages and not paid at all once gives some protection to the DAO and ensure funds are used as outlined.

The app and gamification element are clever, and I can see how this adds value and engagement, the only minor thing I’m less sure on from the proposal is the aim to build the Home Harvester IP, that feels like a very different skillset and less aligned to the core business. In time if there is opportunity to build out the IP great.

Overall excited to see this one progress and it could be a huge win for the DAO and apes.

I am late to the party.

I know that most of you didn’t read the whole thing - let alone the associated docs. Be honest, you didn’t, did you?

This is an impressive and all-encompassing proposal that reads like an investment pitch. Well done, chaps.

I like the idea of this; and the possibility that we could fund this, is up there with our donations to Jane Goodall foundation.

However, I am left wondering if this should even go through the AIP gauntlet. So, @wedge is time a factor? If not, perhaps just hold off and submit to the Banana Bill instead? I think that’s a better idea, especially with the ApeChain tie-in. While it is unclear when the BB will go live and start taking in submissions, if this goes to vote - then fails - it could create negative optics once it then gets submitted to the BB.

Regardless of what path you choose, proposals like this are what the DAO was created for. Well done, and all the best with it.

ps. page 25, the “Buy Back & Burn” was pretty well done, I thought.

It’s an interesting concept and reducing food miles makes a lot of sense.

the business model is thoughtfully integrated into the Web3 space, and $Grow feels ambitious, showcasing great potential if executed well. I appreciate how the funding is broken down into stages rather than being paid all at once, providing protection to the DAO and ensuring the funds are utilized as outlined.
