It’s currently 4x more expensive to fund projects than just 20weeks ago. This needs to be paused until the market price returns to above 2.5p. Otherwise this is like spending almost $1m on a vanity project.

As fun and energetic as it may be it is just a publicity stunt and not a great one in my view.

If we look at the current holder of the record; fever tree, producer of tonics and mixers. PLc listed on the London stock market. They set the record at 250gallons and raised $10,000 for a charity in doing so. Clearly they didn’t set the world alight with this, nor do you get many google hits from press releases about it.
Your proposal is for about 730gallons which seems a lot more than necessary; but all this then shows is that we spent more than someone else. there isn’t any skill involved in achieving this. Someone with more money will do better in future. Can’t see anything that could go viral about this.
Sure people will enjoy this, a few apes may bump chests and post pictures; but the message that is really being broadcasted to other investors in crypto and other holders of ape is that this community has little self control, flaunts the treasury for entertainment, and does not care about the value of APE coin.
The best thing I think, is acknowledge the market situation is bad right now, show some patience and move this into next year when hopefully times will be more fruitful and the DAO treasury much larger.
It’s your call, and I’ll respect any decision.

Just to note, my remarks are not personal to this AIP, many AIPs have gone through that just shouldn’t with the current market conditions. APE is no longer a new coin and a different strategy is needed to demonstrate the sustainability of the coin. It’s still seen as a MEME coin and unless we change strategy, it will die a MEME.

It worries me even more that google has very little hits on Beefeaters achievements. But thanks for correcting that fever tree no longer hold it. I still can’t see the media fever from this. And I don’t think you can assume media around Snoop Dog would reciprocate with this. Convince Snoop to start the ape gin chain off, then we are talking media hit.

Why is there no figures on the number of bottle of GinApe and annual return to the DAO. What is the monthly return on investment for the DAO and what is the forecast for the event in terms of sales of GinApe?

I appreciate that this is a revenue stream but it’s already in place and leveraging it on this proposals as vaguely as you have done, does not make me feel it is really part of the proposal.

I do like this idea, just not now.

To answer your question on my expectations for DAO funded projects.
We need to move from Marketing/promotional projects towards projects that have real business cases that demonstrate a positive net financial effect over a payback period of 3-4years.
We need to break from the qualitative benefits (publicity, engagement, visibility) and focus on real financial targets that we can measure our performance and ROI against.

Companies that don’t control their marketing budget simply go bust. And we don’t control it. The hotel was a perfect example of this failure. F1 (as much as I like it) a close second.

We should reduce the number of Grant projects, define a limit for that type of funding per year and have a very controlled marketing budget. We should be asking for equity and/or royalty payments, fixed and tied into performance. To ensure clarity, proposals should specify which type of funding they are looking for.

Personally, I’d rather invest the money you ask for here directly in your gin company and increase revenues to the DAO. Or take an equity holding which creates a longer term relationship and future investment (subject to performance)
