Johnny (BAYC#9472) - An entrepreneur, Johnny owns multiple tech companies, specializing in the tech sector. He is an early cryptocurrency investor and NFT enthusiast. The entrepreneur has also created numerous IP co-branded products, such as the Supreme X BAYC charity sale. In the past, He has organized NFT events in various regions globally and have hosted multiple Web3 parties in Hong Kong.
PROPOSAL DESCRIPTION:
This topic has been created in compliance with the requirement outlined in AIP-239, which mandates that ApeCoin DAO Working Groups submit funding requests within the last 15 days of February and August.
The proposal aims to kickstart the operations of the working group, as defined in AIP-376, to build income-generating projects for the ApeCoin DAO and engage developers in the community.
We have 3 initiatives:
1. Introducing GetApe.io
GetApe, the first product developed and operated by the working group, is a user-friendly service designed to seamlessly integrate into the ApeChain ecosystem, making it easier for normies to acquire APE tokens on ApeChain. GetApe is poised to remove barriers for both new and existing users, offering a streamlined, user-friendly experience across multiple platforms.
Key Features:
- Simple Acquisition: Users can purchase APE tokens using credit cards, Apple Pay, and other familiar payment methods. This reduces the friction for newcomers to the ecosystem.
- Exchange Integration: Users can exchange other cryptos in their wallets on other blockchains for APE tokens on ApeChain.
- Bridge Functionality: APE tokens can be easily transferred from Ethereum (and other OFT-enabled chains) to the ApeChain wallet, ensuring fluidity across networks.
- Earn Free APE: Users can farm small amounts of APE by engaging with educational content or watching advertisements, promoting ecosystem literacy. Mainnet APE faucet essentially.
- Third-Party Platform Integration: Partners can direct users to GetApe via referral links, earning revenue shares on successful transactions. The process is straightforward, with a simple referral registration required.
- Third-Party Platform Integration: ApeChain Ecosystem Dapps can send users to GetApe to fund their wallets. After users make a successful deposit/purchase they are sent back to the original Dapp with a webhook notification.
- All revenue goes to DAO.
GetApe will be designed with desktop and mobile users in mind, ensuring accessibility and ease of use regardless of the device.
2. Hackathons
The ApecoinDAO hackathon is a collaborative event designed to bring together developers, designers, and enthusiasts from the blockchain and cryptocurrency communities. The goal of the hackathon is to encourage the development of innovative projects and solutions that expand the utility of Apecoin and contribute to the growth of its ecosystem. Participants will have the opportunity to work on various challenges, including decentralized applications (dApps), tools, and resources that enhance the functionality of Apecoin and its integration into different platforms.
3. Web3 Developer Education
The ApecoinDAO Web3 Developer Education initiative is meant to empower developers by providing them with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in the evolving blockchain and decentralized technology space. This program offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers fundamental and advanced aspects of web3 technologies, including blockchain development, smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and the broader DeFi ecosystem. The initiative aims to create accessible learning opportunities through workshops, online courses, webinars, and mentorship programs, fostering a new generation of developers who can contribute to and innovate within the Apecoin ecosystem. By equipping developers with these skills, ApecoinDAO seeks to enhance the overall capabilities and adoption of web3 technologies while simultaneously driving growth and innovation within its own network.

STEPS TO IMPLEMENT:
Objective 1: WG Non-profit DAO-LLC incorporation
- Key Result 1: Establish the legal entity to operate W3D WG activities and be the grant recipient of this budget.
Budget of the objective: $28,000.
Objective 2: GetApe.io kickstart
Within the first 6-month funding window the working group will focus on building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with core functionalities such as payment integrations, cross-chain token swaps, and bridge capabilities.

Objective 3: Hackathons
- Key Result 1: Planning and Organization. Define the objectives and key themes or challenges for the hackathon. Set the hackathon timeline, including registration dates, the event duration, and judging periods. Publish the event’s details.
- Key Result 2: Platform and Tools Setup. Choose a platform for hosting the hackathon (virtual or in-person) and ensure all necessary tools and resources are available for participants. Provide participants with access to Apecoin-related APIs, documentation, and technical support. Set up all the Platform and tools. Provide all the related documents.
- Key Result 3: Execution. Launch the hackathon with a clear kickoff event, explaining the rules, goals, and judging criteria. Provide continual support and workshops throughout the hackathon to assist participants. Over 10 projects join us. Over 500 developers will attend together.
Budget of the objective: $180,000.
Objective 4: Web3 Developer Education
- Key Result 1: Conduct surveys and consultations with the Apecoin community and potential developers to understand the most sought-after skills and topics in web3 education. Сollect more than 100 opinions and confirm the topic of Web3 education.
- Key Result 2: Curriculum Development: Collaborate with blockchain experts and educators to design a comprehensive curriculum that covers key topics such as blockchain fundamentals, smart contract development, dApp creation, and Apecoin-specific use cases. Include various learning modalities like video tutorials, written guides, and interactive coding exercises. Complete the design of the comprehensive curriculum within 2 months.
- Key Result 3: Expert Collaboration: Confirm the involvement of at least 5 blockchain experts and 5 educators in the curriculum development process.
- Key Result 4: Ensure 100% coverage of essential topics, including blockchain fundamentals, smart contract development, dApp creation, and Apecoin-specific use cases.
- Key Result 5: Create a minimum of 10 video tutorials, 10 written guides, and 5 interactive coding exercises.
- Key Result 6: Achieve a 90% satisfaction rate in content quality feedback from a panel of beta testers or educators.
- Key Result 7: Successfully pilot-tested the curriculum with at least 50 students and received positive feedback from 80% of them.
- Key Result 8: Develop at least 3 specific case studies or projects involving Apecoin, ensuring practical application in the curriculum.
- Key Result 9: Set up the Reward, Content Creation, and Curation system: Develop high-quality educational content, including videos, articles, and hands-on projects. Curate additional resources like reading materials, toolkits, and case studies relevant to web3 and Apecoin.
- Key Result 10: Set up a mentorship program connecting participants with experienced developers and blockchain professionals for guidance and support.
- Key Result 11: Provide a Q&A forum or support channels where learners can ask questions and receive help.
Budget of the objective: $60,000.
Romantik will oversee and manage the development and implementation of the GetApe initiative.
Johnny will oversee and manage the hackathons and Web3 Developer Education initiatives.
Besides the grant, there are no requests to the APE Foundation.
REPORTING EXPECTATIONS:
The W3D WG will continue providing the community with detailed quarterly reports and ongoing initiative updates on this forum and the WG’s future social media accounts. Updates will be provided until the end date defined below.
The expected start date is 1 September 2024 (calculation reference), but essentially it is the date of AIP approval/funds transfer.
The expected end date is February 28 2025 (effective start date + 6 months) unless amended by additional budget AIP(s) (according to the funding windows) that get approved by the DAO.
OVERALL COST:
The total amount requested from the ApeCoin Ecosystem Fund = $655,000 USD.
This is to cover the Web3 Development Working Group’s first six-month operational needs (1st tranche).
