AIP-596: Sunsetting the DAO and Launching ApeCo — A New Operating Model for ApeCoin

Fastest lane AIP ever.
As mentioned on top:

The royal families are always right

There is a problem with SnapShot. You should still be able to vote your ApeCoin even though you have delegated your vote. However, it appears that wallets that have delegated their vote are not able to vote their wallets. I verified this from several wallets that I own which despite having ApeCoin on both ApeChain and ETH show a Voting Power of 0. It appears that the Delegate wallets still have the voting power that is delegated to them.

I propose that we fix the settings on Snapshot to allow individuals to vote their ApeCoin.

“In order to enable ApeChainStaking voting on snapshot, we had to turn off the voting strategy that allows people who have delegated their APE to still vote with their APE”

I actually took out time and read the proposed AIP-596 by @Garga and it appears to address the areas where Apecoin can make significant improvements. I express my full support for this initiative.

Yes. I support the transition to ApeCo as a logical and necessary step in the evolution of ApeCoin governance. The new model offers greater operational efficiency, accountability, and strategic focus addressing structural limitations of the DAO. Professionalizing management is crucial to sustaining growth and attracting new participants to the ecosystem.
With the understanding that deep changes like this require active oversight and community engagement. The proposal addresses clear shortcomings of the DAO model, but ApeCo’s success will depend on how centralization is balanced with transparency and alignment with collective interests. It’s a necessary step if executed responsibly.

I support the transition from the Ape Foundation to ApeCo as proposed in AIP-596. While I acknowledge that the proposal contains certain technical deficiencies that were not addressed, I fully endorse the intent behind the AIP and believe it represents a necessary and strategic evolution for the ApeCoin and ApeChain.

Most importantly, I have full confidence in Garga and Cam to execute this transition responsibly and in alignment with the long-term interests of the ApeCoin and ApeChain community. Their leadership, vision, and commitment to decentralization have been instrumental in building the foundations of this enterprise.

I remain an Ape for life. My support for this BAYC, MAYC, ApeCoin and ApecChain communities are unwavering. I will always be available to contribute, advise, or assist in any way. As always, happy to help out wherever I can.
