AIP-64: APE Coin Festival - Bringing NFT Communities Together

Amazing idea! And I will double what @Lost said, we should think about those who can’t attend, so there should be an option to participate virtually.

Thanks for taking the time and adding to the discussion :metal:t4:

Agreed, the option to get a livestream of the panels/talks for just being a token-holder seems like a no-brainer – and something most event producers don’t offer and when they do it’s ticketed – what’s up with that?

Will add this aspect to a proposal if it gets that far.

Cheers

Just a quick update to this Idea-Thread:

Based on conversations here, Twitter, Discord and IRL – just wanted to clarify a few things:

  • This APECoin Festival (ACF) proposal is NOT a substitute/replacement for APEFest
  • ApeFest is a YUGA production and they will do their own thing
  • ACF absolutely expects/hopes YUGA to have a presence in this event (hopefully as a lead sponsor as well)
  • ACF is not just for BAYC, BAYC, BAKC - it is designed to unite all NFT communities (take all the satellite events at NFT-NYC and imagine them all in one walkable area/space)

Final Note
Having produced 100’s of experiential events and brand activations at major conferences and festivals one thing we know is that putting on an event of our own is a heavy, heavy lift – not for the faint of heart.

This AIP Idea will most likely begin as a proposal to secure LOI’s from other NFT communities, brands, talent, venues, etc – with the most likely outcome of an event in 12-18 months from the go-ahead.

PS - Feel free to take notes and ask around this week at NFT-nyc for what others think of the idea – keeping in mind, this is a Web3 community-owned project, not a Corporate-owned festival

These guys did a better job in explaining ownership in Web3 vs everything that’s come before:

Just an idea, but maybe will fit well for the fest. What if to add an NFT cosplay competition event to the fest? Imagine Comic-Con, but with NFT costumes

Key Insight from NFT-NYC:

APE Coin Festival should aim to be the main event in this space that is open to mainstream attendees (non-nft holders, crypto-curious) – and help onboard them safely and securely on to Web3

For the space to grow we need to attract and onboard millions of new collectors, creators, contributors to the ecosystem – APE Coin Conference & Festival could be, should be that event.:metal:t4:

Hearing this in various forms from so many folks at NFT-NYC:

We need a single-area NFT Conference & Festival for networking, meeting IRL, sharing A-List entertainment and expenses - and a place less-costly than New York (the Uber bills, ugh)

Hopefully we can coalesce around this APE Coin Festival concept – thanks all!
