Ok I really feel like your team has read/listened, analysed and come back with a proposal reflective of the community feedback and with good ideas/alternative functionality drawn from the best of competing proposals - this is a huge strength of the AIP process. I think the fee structure is very attractive as is the commitment from the team in terms of URL lease and waving the upfront ask.
I am no expert on solutioning but love the web3 first principles being applied in terms of decentralisation via composability, non-extraction and interoperability. Really well written and easy to understand AIP!
I agree w/ @StoicDegen’s statement that your team read/listened. This really does highlight the power of the community. @zheerwagen has great talent & the team deserves much credit for how they’ve handled and proposed their marketplace solution. This is still my favorite of the MPs. I like the aggregate ability!
It’s getting more competitive and apes have choices to make. There are multiple people who have advocated for more than one marketplace. All of them are vying for the Apecoin domain. Maybe we can add a drop-down list & support multiple marketplaces. Making that suggested change might require an seperate AIP to be passed.
Really like the new proposal. Thank you for listening to the community and incorporating feedback. I appreciate that you have separated out the things that are more controversial so they can be addressed individually while you still move forward.
I really love how you are incorporating the values of Web3 and that you are aggregating orders from other marketplaces.
The biggest issue I have with both ME and Rarible AIPs is that they want to be run on the apecoin.com domain indefinitely. That poses a security risk and stifles competition. I’m not sure about Rarible, but I don’t believe the ME marketplace is composable, so if we aren’t satisfied, it makes it very difficult to change to something else. Your proposal solves for this, and I wish they would follow suit.
Thank you once again for reaching out and listening to the community. Good luck!
This is by far the most comprehensive marketplace proposal the DAO currently has available.
Having a marketplace aggregate all listings from other marketplaces, able to process any payments in $APE, and provide an overall marketplace fee discount for those transactions is a great initiative. It’s a great sign that your team took time to recognize that the structure of the DAO is not currently set up to receive income or redistribute cash flow from successful projects. And then you provided community sourced solutions.
I think verifying other projects, as well as individual artists, outside of the Yugaverse would be prudent. Given that the motivation for the DAO is to engage with the broader NFT community outside of Yuga Labs, it seems like we should be looking to make APE attractive for collection owners as well as collectors. If the marketplace only highlights and approves Yuga Labs collections, then it becomes a yuga marketplace that is powered by $APE, rather than an ApeCoin marketplace powered by $APE.
I hope to see this marketplace functional at some level regardless of this proposal.
We’re very open to revising our proposal to request a link from the ApeCoin DAO homepage and/or twitter bio instead of a leased URL depending on community preference.
Long-term, we’d love to expand collections available in the marketplace but are starting with Yuga collections so that we can build community and listing volume with a smaller group first by shipping project-specific improvements.
As we build usage with the core collections we can submit a second proposal for expansion, either to all projects, or select projects vetted by the community (ie. WoW, CoolCats).
We are glad to hear that you are excited to move straight to the AIP Drafts process.

The AIP implementation is administered by the Ape Foundation. Implementation may be immaterially or materially altered to optimise for security, usability, to protect APE holders, and otherwise to effect the intent of the AIP. Any material deviations from an AIP, as initially approved, will be disclosed to the APE holder community.
