AIP Ideas vs AIP Drafts

Q: What’s the difference between an AIP Idea and an AIP Draft?

A: An AIP Idea is an early-stage concept put forth by community members for improving the DAO. Compared to an AIP Draft, an AIP Idea is more informal, often more vague and does not require filling out a template.

Q: Can I submit an AIP Idea even if I’m not 100% of what it will look like?

A: Absolutely. Community members are encouraged to submit AIP Ideas even if authors haven’t undertaken the more rigorous work of writing an AIP Draft. AIP Ideas are meant to stimulate community discussion, which in turn helps inform the author if and when they complete the more robust and formal process of filling out an AIP Draft template.
