Nomination Statement

With the experience of running multiple successful companies, both in web2 and web3, I believe I can bring meaningful value to the ApeCoin DAO. As a passionate public evangelist for NFTs and the metaverse, I’m also well qualified to help improve DAO communication, which is an area that I believe needs vast improvement.

Motivation

I’ve been unimpressed with many of the decisions & general lack of communication from the DAO over the last several months. There are those that complain from the sidelines and then others that are willing to invest to improve things. By throwing my hat in the ring to become a Special Council member, I’m doing the latter.

Rationale

I’ve run several businesses and sit on multiple boards. I’ve sold a company to Microsoft, helped another through a $25m VC fundraise, and have spent the last 18 months deeply immersed in NFTs and the metaverse.

I’m also a gifted communicator and have used that skillset to publicly evangelize our space through dozens of media appearances. Since communication is one of the areas I think the DAO needs to focus on improving, I believe I can add meaningful value here.

Specifications

I’ve run multiple companies and sit on several boards. See prior sections.

Concluding Statement

As someone with decades of experience running successful businesses and having spent the last 18 months focused on evangelizing and educating the broader market on NFTs and the metaverse, I believe I’m uniquely positioned to add value to the DAO. It would be an honor to help progress the $APE ecosystem forward.

I think we all know why Adam is suited to be a member of the team, his wealth of relatable experience is off the charts and I hope others see this too, GL Adam!

I’ve known Adam since the beginning of my NFT journey, and he is, in my opinion, one of the few remaining trusted actors in this space. Having worked closely with him on a previous project, I have witnessed first-hand his knowledge of web3 and commitment to getting the job done, and he is highly professional and driven in everything he does.

In my opinion, it’s a no-brainer. Adam would make an excellent addition to the Special Council!

Good luck!

Hi @hollanderadam, I am asking all candidates these same questions:

  1. If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your tenure within the DAO? (Let’s pretend you only had the time and energy to make a personal push for one item - what would it be?)

  2. Are there any factors in your life that may limit your ability to serve? (conflicts of interest, time allocation, limited wifi bc you work from Starbucks… etc)

  3. What is your least favorite thing right now with our DAO in it’s current state?

  4. What is a Koda?

Thank you,
F/S

Happy to answer these questions.

  1. My top priority would be to work on communication/transparency. I think there’s a lot to be improved upon here. That said, this has been a common theme lately and I’m confident will be a priority for the council regardless. Beyond this, I think the most important item to focus on is utility for $APE. People need a reason to hold it beyond speculation for future demand. There need to be ways to gain unique value from spending and holding it.

  2. I do have my own wifi  Jokes aside, I can’t think of anything that would limit my ability to serve. I don’t have a traditional “job” and the professional roles that I take on (like the web3 projects I run) are because of my genuine passion for them. If I were elected, I’m prepared to spend a meaningful amount of time on this - far beyond the minimum hours required in the description.

  3. I don’t love the fact that proposals & elections can be essentially decided by a small number of $APE whales. I know that’s a common problem with DAOs. And those that hold a lot of $APE do deserve to have their voices heard - loudly. But I think certain proposals, and definitely elections, should have a different structure. I also recognize it’s likely not in my best interest to say this while asking to be elected under current rules lol

  4. I think you meant “wtf is a Koda?” but does anyone really know?!
