@Igor - Nomination 1/2022

Personal Information

Discourse ID: @Igor

Twitter: https://twitter.com/igorpogany

Name: Igor Pogany

DOB: March 9th 1994

Country of Residence: Austria

Professional Background:

For 6 years I have been running my own video production company for businesses all across Europe. I have a small team of editors to take on corporate and medium sized clients.

Nomination Statement

In the future, it should be 100 times easier to take an interest in the Ape Coin DAO. A busy person should have a way to stay up-to-date on what has been happening inside the DAO without committing hours of their time. This can be achieved through video communications that concisely summarize all the key facts regularly. I firmly believe that the best way to reach more people is by providing an alternative to the deep and convoluted forum discussions. A weekly round-up, interviews with AIP authors and live streaming critical events are just 3 content formats that would make participating way easier.

By participating in the SpecialCouncil I could not just be a voice for the community that I am in touch with on a daily basis but also communicate essential information to a wider audience through the use of video content.

Motivation

I believe that Special Council members should not just be skilled and experience but also have the ability to work in teams and communicate clearly. And the communication should not stop at people who are already involved with the DAO.

I host a weekly Otherside News Show on YouTube which brings all the essential pieces of information to busy Yuga Labs enthusiasts. I believe that I can help the DAO bring its discussions to a wider audience through the power of video which would in-turn increase DAO participation and transparency.

Rationale

Over the last 6 years of my life I have been leading my own video production company in which my main responsibility was client communications and the management of a small team. That experience made me internalize the importance of effective communication. I hope to bring that experience to the DAO

Specifications

Voted in many DAOS over course of 21 and 22 but rarely went deeper. Although I was always interested the barrier to entry is usually super high. And that is exactly what I would want to improve through my participation. The forum is a fantastic way to process complex discussion and eventually come to decisions but fails at being approachable and beginner friendly.

Concluding Statement

The DAO needs to lower the barrier of entry and introduce a new way for busy people to follow all important internal activities. I currently bring weekly news to busy Otherside holders on YouTube and I hope to bring my expertise in communications and video content to the Ape Coin DAO and eventually make it simpler for interested outsiders to participate.

Hi @Igor, I am asking all candidates these same questions:

  1. If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your tenure within the DAO? (Let’s pretend you only had the time and energy to make a personal push for one item - what would it be?)

  2. Are there any factors in your life that may limit your ability to serve? (conflicts of interest, time allocation, limited wifi bc you work from Starbucks… etc)

  3. What is your least favorite thing right now with our DAO in it’s current state?

  4. What is a Koda?

Thank you,
F/S

Good to see you throw your hat in the ring Igor. I have enjoyed your video content on Otherside. One question I have is, have you seen this post by @bc

Specifically this quote
“The Special Council also has no authority to make any significant resource allocation decisions without going through an AIP. In fact, the Special Council arguably has no authority to steer direction or execute a strategy they believe is correct without first securing approval from the DAO itself.”

“The Special Council exists to make sure that nothing can get to a vote unless it is properly researched for risk to the Ape Foundation.”

Is this how you have understood the SC to be? Would you still want to be a part of SC, knowing it is more of a corporate governance/risk management/silent administrative role?
