Implementation Update – AIP-495: Conclusion of 10K $APE Giveaway

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the 10K $APE Giveaway, a major milestone in AIP-495, aimed at engaging the ApeCoin community and expanding awareness of ApeCoin & ApeChain

  • The snapshot of eligible wallets was taken on March 8, 2025, at 10 PM CET.
  • The process was conducted transparently using SnapShot (https://www.snapeshot.com/).
  • The full SnapShot CSV file has been attached for verification.

:white_check_mark: Total Participation & NFT Distribution

  • 48,136 NFTs were minted on ApeChain, making this one of the most significant NFT engagement initiatives in the ecosystem.
  • This was made possible with the incredible support of BLEVER, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.

  • The drawing was conducted using Random.org, with a full streaming session on @RaccoonGin.
  • A total of 23 winners were selected, including:
    ◦ One participant with 11,853 NFTs, significantly increasing their chances of winning.
    ◦ Another with 3,177 NFTs, with strong probability based on holdings.
    ◦ The randomized process ensured fairness for all ticket holders.

What’s happening now:

We’ve extended the production timeline to ensure top-tier quality:

Instead of printed stickers, the cans now feature professionally painted labels – more durable, collectible, and premium.

We’re still awaiting integration of the HoloNFT (ERC-6956) – a key part of the user experience that will enable real-world interactions via the NFT.

Why ERC-6956?

As part of AIP-495, we re-evaluated the NFT logic behind the Mystery Box system.

After detailed technical and security analysis, ERC-6956 emerged as the most suitable standard.

Unlike ERC-6551 (focused on wallet functionality), ERC-6956 enables automatic execution of predefined actions when an NFT is held or transferred.

This is critical for our Mystery Box concept, where certain content or interactions should trigger without manual input – based on NFT ownership or movement alone.

Additionally, ERC-6956 offers security and compliance advantages:

• Logic is embedded in the NFT itself

• Actions are transparent, non-manipulable, and automated

• Meets the highest standards of reliability and traceability

That’s why we’ve chosen ERC-6956 – for an innovative, secure, and scalable Mystery Box experience on ApeChain.
