Previously, I was the founder of an international travel B2B startup. The company became a top B2B hotel booking and tech provider in the Asia Pacific region. Alibaba is currently the biggest shareholder of the company. At the moment, I’m the founding member of 8DAO, a venture studio developed by a community of 200+ web3 builders and investors. The DAO aims at accelerating the future of ownership and community through NFT and DAO. I’m holding the position of coordination lead in 8DAO.
Nomination Statement
Concise statement on why you are running for the Special Council
As an early BAYC holder and ApeCoin community member since day 1, I care a lot about the development of ApeCoin DAO. I want to contribute with my experience and knowledge that I gained from both running a proper DAO and startup to the ApeCoin community. I see ApeCoin DAO having potential to incentivize even more talents to bring in high-quality proposals, especially proposals with innovation, proper execution plans, and measurable deliverables. I want to serve on the Special Council because I want ApeCoin to bring more positive impact to the whole crypto space.
Motivation
Details on your motivation for becoming an ApeCoin DAO Special Council member
90% of my time in crypto in the past three years has been all about NFT and DAO. Why? Because I have true conviction in their future. I enjoy every second learning and progressing in the space. My mission is to contribute to the development of the DAO ecosystem. I love the idea of high transparency, community involvement, and community ownership of DAOs. Yes, there are still many issues in DAO as we are still in the early stage of the space. My motto is: Great things can’t be achieved easily. I’m happy to take on the role of being a problem solver to tackle the issues ApeCoin DAO is facing at a governance level. I have gained a lot (finance, friendship, knowledge) from being a BAYC and ApeCoin holder in the past two years. For me, the community is my family. When the timing is right, I’m ready to step up and help the family become stronger. Now is the perfect time.
Rationale
Share relevant experience and skills that will bring value to the ApeCoin community
I founded a DAO (8dao.io) in early 2022. Like ApeCoin DAO, it has a proper legal structure and uses fungible tokens. I have been leading initiatives to improve the DAO governance on a continuous basis. It currently has a venture arm, NFT fund, and incubation arm. My team and I have proved we can make solid progress using a DAO structure. Not only do I have hands-on experience setting up and running a DAO, but I also spent an intensive amount of time studying other NFT DAOs, including Nouns DAO, Flamingo DAO, and ENS, etc. This ensures I have the most up-to-date knowledge about DAO. I have been giving advice to project founders looking to set up DAOs and conducting seminars about DAO in universities. My educational background in political science has been helping me a lot in creating sound governance procedures, including the concept of legitimacy, accountability, and transparency. My knowledge from non-profit management is ideal for holding an important position in a foundation. As an entrepreneur with a successful track record, I believe my business decision-making ability can bring substantial value to the Special Council.

DAO Expertise
I know Apecoin DAO have high standard in legal compliance. I have experience setting up a DAO with a proper legal structure and running it accordingly. My legal understanding around DAO is highly applicable to the position. Invited by law department of a university, i gave seminars on DAOs to the legal profession community. I willing to apply my role as DAO ambassador to Apecoin DAO. Moreover, my experience in leading a team of 10 DAO contributors made me master the skill of delivering solid results in a decentralised setting.
Apecoin DAO need more proposal that can deliver results with value to the community
Community Building
I grew a small NFT collectors community(mostly BAYC holders) from 20 people to over 200 members with diverse background such as VC, exchange, founders, creators, lawyers, professors. The application method we used attract high quality individuals to join. We built venture investment arm, NFT fund, incubation program. My experience attracting high-quality individuals come together and build as a team is going to be a valuable asset for the special council.
Entrepreneurship
My successful start-up experience shows my ability to work in a high-pressure environment and to make sound decisions in a fasting-changing space. These skillsets are important for Special Council to make sound economic decision.
DAO Improvement
My focus would be helping to have more proposals that create true value for the community, especially proposals that have deliverables and results that are supported by the community. In other words, making the DAO proposals more performance based. In order to achieve this, active engagement with the community to spread the culture is crucial. I’d like to see even more engagement between the special council and the community. We need more talented builders to build the DAO together. I will focus on encouraging more contributors from the community to make Apecoin DAO a builder DAO

The special council need talents with intensive DAO knowledge and experience to serve in the position. My hands-on experience starting and building a DAO makes me a perfect candidate. My education background in political science and non-profit management is highly relevant. I plan to apply my successful startup experience in areas help to make the DAO a more effective organisation that can actually create true value for all apecoin holders. As an early BAYC and apecoin holder, I understand the history and culture of the community. Having the opportunity serving in the special council is not just another job for me, I’m doing this out of passion. Yes, I’m ready to serve the apecoin community.
