This public service announcement is a warning for our community members: please do not send funds to the ApeCoin DAO’s smart contract address.
Unfortunately, when this occurs, there is nothing the APE Foundation nor anybody else can do to reverse the transaction and retrieve the tokens.
The reason for this is the decentralized nature of the DAO’s smart contract. Nobody has access to its keys. As a result, all funds sent to the contract, even if they were sent as an honest mistake, are permanently locked. And nobody wants that!
