ABSTRACT
The Ape Proposal Generator is an AI-powered tool that allows members of the community to easily create Ape Improvement Proposals (AIPs) with as little as a short description.

For example, you could input something as simple as “a proposal for Ape Park, a theme park powered by Ape Coin” and get a fully formatted, quality proposal. The generator is smart enough to populate the additional fields like benefit to ecosystem, timeline, and cost based on your short description. Although, it’s worth noting that the more details you provide upfront, the less guesses it has to make, and the better the generated proposal will be.

BENEFITS TO APECOIN ECOSYSTEM
More proposal ideas and more engagement from the community.

Writing AIPs can often take a lot of time and effort. The Ape Proposal Generator uses the superpowers of AI to overcome this barrier and make it easy for anyone to create high-quality AIPs. Our hope is that with this tool, community members feel more encouraged to turn their ideas into actual proposals, get them passed, and contribute to the Ape ecosystem.

PLATFORMS & TECHNOLOGIES
The Ape Proposal Generator will be developed as a simple web application.

The frontend is written in React, image generation is powered by OpenAI’s DALL·E 3, and text generation is powered by OpenAI’s GPT 3.5 Turbo.

STEPS TO IMPLEMENT & TIMELINE
An initial version of the proposal generator has already been built and can be accessed at this link: https://village-2jv0n2dnn-tchowd.vercel.app/

4 weeks

  • Bug fixing and additional model fine-tuning to address potential edge cases and improve output quality
  • Replace GPT 3.5 with GPT 3.5 Turbo
  • Add in image generation functionality powered by DALL·E 3 to help authors enhance the visual appeal of their proposals and get the community excited about their vision
  • Add Ape Coin token gating
  • Cool animations to give the interface a more polished feel

COST
20,000 APE

ADDITIONAL NOTE
We love building cool products that people want. If the community enjoys using the proposal generator and thinks it’d be useful to add additional functionality or have other AI-powered tools, we’d be happy to explore building those too.

How is this any different from using Chat GPT directly? 20,000 APE for a wrapper on top of Chat GPT seems pretty high.

Also from a principles stand point I’m not comfortable with this product. If an author is not even willing to write a proposal and exclusively uses GPT to write a proposal I have 0% confidence that they will execute on any project. If the hurdle of writing a proposal is too high to climb, then how can you be sure they will do any of the actual work required to deliver the project, or if they even believe what the proposal says.

To be clear, I’m not against the use of GPT. I think it’s very useful to rephrase things, or for non english speakers to be more clear. But making it even easier to turn a sentence → proposal will generate so many spam proposals. It will bury legitimate proposals. You can already do everything what this proposal aims to do, but you have to put in the effort. Everyone can use GPT for free.

The same question immediately arose in my head) Why use forks if there is a primary source with excellent capabilities. And you should probably use it only to correct your main idea :brain:

Absolutely agree with You. AIP helps DAO to make things better with Your own ideas and vision, but if participants will use such a tool it means they just want to get funding and hype about it.

Hi ApeCoin DAO Community,

@rogercawdette has requested to withdraw their application. This AIP will be moved to and remain in the Withdrawn AIPs category.

Kind Regards,

@Facilitators
