@zheerwagen, I think you’ve done a great job operating in a fast-changing and uncertain marketplace environment. Also, thanks for taking the time to ask important questions and for making recommendations about how to frame the next deployment.
As one of the creators of Thank APE, Zach asked me to share a bit more context on the value of pointing Snag marketplace funding to Thank APE - as was recommended in his proposal. I’m happy to do so!
Thank APE is protocol-level infrastructure rewarding value-creating contributions to the DAO - from governance contributions to builder contributions.
The impact of Thank APE, already, is significant. As Zach shared in an earlier comment, since we launched, core governance engagement metrics have largely increased by ~200%.
Zach’s proposal to “point marketplace funding to Thank APE” does a few things:
a) It ensures creativity and decentralization around how funds get distributed. Thank APE can reward whatever the community determines is valuable: from governance participation (like adding value to proposals, as many have done here) to, for instance, Defi tooling like those suggested above.
b) It’s an important step toward building sustainability for the DAO. When Snag and others commit APE back to the community through Thank APE (more projects are interested in doing so) - those funds are delivered to people creating greater efficiency, utility, and value for the DAO.
c) It ensures that any marketplace funding is distributed with efficiency and care. Thank APE is a DAO-approved initiative that is already built, already driving value, has built-in bot and bad actor protection, and is supported by much of the community.
