AIP-56: Sell all assets and buy Sappy Seals - Ecosystem Fund Allocation

Proposal Name: Use ApeCoin DAO Assets to Acquire All Listed Sappy Seals

Proposal Category: Core: Ecosystem Fund Allocation

Abstract | Two or three sentences that summarize the proposal.

As the Web3 space continues to grow it is imperative ApeCoin DAO supports interoperability and scalability. By buying all listed Sappy Seals, we will be able to generate $PIXL for all members and grow into the Pixlverse Metaverse.

Motivation | A statement on why the APE Community should implement the proposal.

We should implement this proposal for the greater good of Web3. Currently APE, Yuga, and subsidaries are a siloed production, not supporting the greater good of Web3. For the brand to survive we need to be forward looking, and supporting builders across various ecosystems. There are currently only 121 Sappy Seals listed, out of 10000 total. Buying these and staking them will show we are interested in supporting and growing into other Metaverses, while also improving the public image of APE.

Rationale | An explanation of how the proposal aligns with the APE Community’s mission and guiding values.

This DAO was formulated for the better good of Web3. What is better than supporting builders? The Pixlverse ecosystem is driven by the $PIXL earned from staking Sappy Seals. Buying them will provide us with passive earning as well as access into the ever growing and changing metaverse.

Specifications | A detailed breakdown of the platforms and technologies that will be used.

  1. DexTools - to swap $APE to $ETH
  2. Genie.xyz to buy all listed Sappy Seals
  3. Sappyseals.io to stake our acquired seals.

Steps to Implement | The steps to implement the proposal, including associated costs, manpower, and other resources for each step where applicable.

  1. Acquire 164,573 $APE
  2. Swap the acquired $APE to $ETH
  3. Using the $ETH, buy all available Sappy Seals
  4. Stake acquired Sappy Seals

Timeline | Relevant timing details, including but not limited to start date, milestones, and completion dates.

This process can be completed within minutes of the proposal being approved.

Overall Cost | The total cost to implement the proposal.

164,573 $APE

Proposals like this are the reason that the larger community is looking at ways to gate the proposal process. You’ve done a terrible disservice to the health of this DAO by inputting this idea.

Hopefully we can protect small contributors like myself from being locked out of the proposal process. It could be done by using Discourse’s trust level feature, new users unable to propose until they reach a certain activity level.

Couldn’t agree more. Minimum trust level 1 or 2 should be required for this category. Build reputation in new General topics and replies elsewhere for a while to earn the ability to draft ideas.

This would also ensure that accounts started just for promoting an L2 or alt L1 ecosystem would have to gain trust first as well.

Thank you ser. I want to be here and others will come along that also want to contribute. There are certainly ways to do this that doesn’t lock out good faith individual and groups of people.

Avalanche for example, they first couldve been required to interact with the community in general chats or a thread about their chain. Thank you for paying attention and caring.

@rabbit GM GM Mr. Mod. sorry to ping you. 0xSword and mg have great points. Would we need to do a proposal to have this trust level threshold for AIPs, or is this something that you guys can take care as moderators?

This is a tremendous idea and all the apes that I have shared it with support it. I think @0xSword mg and @PPMan have not done their research on pixlverse, pixlpets or sappy seals. Its clear that they are not thinking about this from the high-level, 40,000 foot view. all respect to our lords and saviors the BAYC, but it is 1 year old and the infrastructure being built right now is amazing. The Artic Alliance with Pudgy Penguins is also tremendously undervalued and should not be dismissed nor discredited. By buying all the listed sappy seals, we immediately would be major players in the pixlverse and thus the future of web3.

Hi ApeCoin DAO Community,

The Special Council has deemed this AIP to be returned for reconstruction. In doing so, they cited that the proposal would not benefit the DAO at this stage.

We would encourage the author to keep collaborating with the DAO and to submit any other AIP Ideas.

Thank you again for your input and engagement so far, and do not hesitate to reach back out with any additional ideas or thoughts on the future of the DAO’s governance.
