We have recently experienced a sudden influx of new users to the forum, which appears to be an organized and artificial activity. As a response, our team has conducted a thorough manual review of the forum’s activity over the past few days and individually examined each of the 1000+ new user accounts. Consequently, we have identified and deleted over 1,000 fake profiles, in addition to implementing a more stringent moderation process for all new users.
To further strengthen the security and verification measures on our forum, we have reached out to the Discourse team, with whom we maintain regular communication. We have requested their assistance in enhancing our initial layer of human verification. We are pleased to inform you that the Discourse team, in addition to our DAO administrative team Webslinger, have assured us of their support and will dedicate additional team members and resources to collaborate on solutions starting from this Monday.
In order to ensure the security, transparency, and accuracy of information within our community, we are currently conducting a manual review of all accounts created on the forum over this past year and beyond. Rest assured, we are taking this step to safeguard our community members. At present, any risk to our community is no longer overtly evident, and we will continue to closely monitor the situation.
If the situation escalates further, we are prepared to activate additional security measures on the forum promptly. We remain committed to providing a safe and reliable platform for our valued community members.
