AIP-244: DAZE Micro Grants

Sure, we hosted 2 "Art and Chill " Sponsored by Meebits DAO. New Delhi A&C was amazing, everyone loved it but unfortunately we didnt got much attendees for Bangalore due to a long week with Good Friday and Easter.
Dont want to spam this thread with images so dropping only a couple of images + twitter thread.

I’ve got mixed reviews on this, some says this is a perfect ask for an experiment, says says this is too much and some says this is too low to be even considered voting.
We’ve hosted 1 large scale event and curated 2 in different cities. Onto "Something like this " We’ve hosted this multiple times already to an extend that builders and developers have asked us to do something focusing on developers as well. Hence the reason why we wanted to create something where they can come together, learn about the DAO and create something that will contribute towards building utilities and tools around $ape. The bigger the event, the more number of people it will attract and quality of proposals from different teams and individuals will show up.

Our first major event that we hosted in Haus Khas, New Delhi was visited by 400+ people. We’ve done so much artist focused that developers want us to do something towards blockchain technology.

Social Cause

Helped bringing together 44-48 artist to create 2 pieces to be sold and auction off respectively with proceedings going towards Crypto Relief Fund during peak Covid tension throughout the world.
Cryptoart for the win

Interview on National Television

DAZE Core were interviewed in a special segment by a national news channel were they ended the year’s crypto segment with us covering a small portion of it. We worked hard and achieved all this and thats why we were able to be on national TV on New Year’s Eve.

Curated and Sponsored

Some events we curated and sponsored
Rakshita Philip on Instagram: "We’ve been trying to figure out the best way to provide visibility to LGBTQ + , female artists and speakers at this event and have their stories heard. In order to do that we’ve limited our speakers and pop up stall artists to only females and people from the LGBTQ+ community and guess what! @daze_india has especially curated and sponsored a collection of 10 select NFT artworks made by LGBTQ + and female artists to be displayed at the event . Let’s kick off pride month with the spirit of collaboration and empowerment . Thanks Daze and everyone supporting/contributing , ya’ll are such G’s ! 👑✨ #nftgallery #virtualexhibition #meetup2022 #delhimeetup #webthree #cryptomeetup #nftmeetup #pride🌈"
The Kaari Kollective on Instagram: "Some exciting updates! We are super excited to have @daze_india as our Artists’ Curator! Curating something really special😉 Stay Tuned for moreeee🚀"

We’ve also recently completed taking an entire semester "Introduction to Blockchain " for a college which was aimed towards spreading awareness and information about cryptocurrency among students.
Back when the original proposal was posted, we had just started taking guest lectures. After few lectures were invited to take an entire semester+ providing educational materials such as Self Learning Materials and more to students.

With Apecoin’s DAO support and grant, we can achieve a more wider audience and onboard new people to it. I also recently did a giveaway to get artist in Working Group 0 server and get going.

I hope I was able to answer all the questions properly

You’re right it’s good to have enough for gas. That said, since these are just balance transfers, they’re very cheap ($1 - $2 max). These are transactions that will also almost always execute on Low priority, in my experience. 100 APE is $400, let’s say $350 in worst case. That’s 350 / 18 = $19 per transfer, or on average 10x the gas. So I’d suggest reducing gas ask to 20 APE.

This is definitely nit-picking, but allow me to explain why it’s important. It’s not a question of asking too much - you should ask exactly how much you need and not worry if the amount is too low or too high. What’s important is that the amount is accurate. B/c once someone sees one amount that seems inaccurate, in their mind that will put all amounts under question. It’s just how our brains work.

This is a great line! It really helps your cause so, imho, it should be included at the very top of your proposal, no later than the start of 2nd paragraph. Make it part of the abstract: idea in general, lines like this that summarize your previous results/experience with numbers/impact/scale, then ‘with this proposal we’re doing it even bigger and better! expected outcomes: x, y, z’ type of thing.

Assume people are lazy and/or don’t have time to do in-depth research.

Ofc, only ideas, feel free to ignore! Good luck

Hey GM Vulkan and team, start of this thread was slow and I kind of ruined my good intentions with some replies above that came out to be a bit rude, but nice to see it slowly getting some transactions.
I think the feedback is good and making final changes. Edited this to say that its fine to move this to drafts.
Thank you.

Agreed on the gas fees part, didnt noticed it until pointed out like I said before.
Editing the asking amount with gas fee being 20 $ape

Hi ApeCoin DAO Community,

@Evil has responded to our questions and has provided consent to share them in this forum for the community.

Questions (click to expand)

1. Are there any potential legal or regulatory risks associated with the activities of this AIP?
~ No, the only risk or a factor to think about was 30%, which is why in original AIP 172, we discussed with the mods and decided to raise the ask from 15,000 $ape to 16,500 $ape, with 30% crypto tax in India in mind. So yes there aren’t any legal or regulatory risk that we can think of unless govt. schemes and guidelines changes.

2. What are the Objectives and Key Results which have been identified for your project?
~Our objectives are to test how deploying small amount of $ape to small builders will create an impact on apecoin DAO. Key results would be interesting ideas from the Indian community, working prototype and most probably some new utilities that no one would have thought of.

3. Please elaborate on the team’s expectations for the future
~ We are expecting to see a mixture of small teams, builders and artist that follow the passion of creating but are limited to funds. So we are expecting ideas that can benefit $ape, Apecoin DAO and the general usecase of it in India. India has seen rise in internet culture as well as crypto all together. So there are many new people exploring blockchain and cryptocurrencies and these very same people onboarding early with $ape would benefit them as well as the DAO.

4. Is the Ape Foundation expected to engage in any of the steps of the AIP implementation? If so, please specify the step and elaborate how it is expected to work.
~ With my last conversation with AIP 172, we discussed if it would be possible that Team Management funds; 6,500 $ape can be transferred to DAZE’s bank account , which includes 30% tax on crypto as well. Would like to confirm this again as well. Even if it would be not possible it would be alright.

5. Have you or your team identified any additional financial, operational, or brand risks associated with this AIP?
~ Additional financial risk would only be price fluctuation in $ape, other than that nothing.

6. Would any component of your proposal require token holders to connect wallets?
~No, the submission form would be the classic google doc that majority of audience are familiar with and prefer. As our goal is to encourage people who dont own $ape get into the ecosystem, there is not need to connect wallets anywhere.

7. Do you provide consent to share these questions with the community in this forum?
Yes sure, go ahead.

A DAR package is being worked on and upon completion this AIP will move into Administrative Review. Follow this Topic as further updates will be posted here in the comments.
