Strawberry is the founder of Crypto Nomads Club, a community for web3 founders & builders who travel and participate in crypto events.

The Crypto Nomads Club team is composed of experienced technical and creative builders who actively manage the community and events platform Cryptoevents.xyz full time.

Cryptoevents.xyz, is a web application that provides a comprehensive list of major crypto events worldwide. Hundreds of crypto native professionals in the industry use the app daily, alongside the top Crypto Projects, Protocols, and VC firms to help make an informed decision on their next IRL event. Since its February 2023 launch, there have been over 5000 recorded crypto events on the platform.

ABSTRACT:

There is currently a gap between the NFT/creative/community crowd & and the developer, builder & investor crowd within the crypto community.

A dedicated section for ApeCoin holders and lurkers within Cryptoevents.xyz will promote ApeCoin-related events and bring an understanding of the different ApeCoin initiatives.

This AIP provides for $20,000 in APE to build a custom ApeCoin events sheet within Cryptoevents.xyz, ApeCoin logo display based on RSVP’d ApeCoin holders. The custom designed ApeCoin section will help the ApeCoin community increase reach beyond “the NFT crowd” to other audiences within crypto. This initiative will further ApeCoin’s visibility and relevance within the broader web3 ecosystem.

Success will be measured by the volume of ApeCoin related events and traffic cryptoevents.xyz brings back to the ApeCoin community.

BENEFIT TO APECOIN ECOSYSTEM:

The implementation of ApeCoin Events Hub on Cryptoevents.xyz offers a number of benefits to the ApeCoin Ecosystem:

  • Exposure to a brand new crypto audience: By integrating with an existing web3 platform with an existing audience, ApeCoin events will be more exposed to newcomers and more likely to gain meaningful adoption. After all, cryptoevents.xyz website visitors are crypto native, which makes them the perfect ApeCoin target audience
  • Increased engagement with existing members: ApeCoin holders will have a centralized hub to discover, participate in, or host ApeCoin events that advance web3 culture.
  • Easy discovery for non-holders, who will be able to access this page and learn more about ApeCoin and its initiatives. It is critical such a page is not token-gated and easy to access in order to increase ApeCoin’s reach.
  • The ApeCoin logo will be automatically be displayed on all major events where at least one ApeCoin holder is present, further providing an ongoing reminder that ApeCoin is an important participant not just in DAOs & NFTs, but also in the web3 builder ecosystem, attracting new collaborations and investors.
  • Encourage more collaboration between various segments of the web3 economy. By furthering the exposure of the ApeCoin community to a broader and more diverse crypto audience, this proposal will also indirectly help other ApeCoin initiatives, like the ETHGlobal sponsorships. For many crypto developers, cryptoevents.xyz is the best source of information on upcoming ETHGlobal hackathons. Through this partnership, ApeCoin’s participation will be further highlighted.
  • Accurate insights on who ApeCoin holders are and thus how to best serve them, because Cryptoevents.xyz allows attendees to RSVP to events with their Twitter socials

PLATFORMS & TECHNOLOGIES:

A list of platform and technologies that will be used:

  • Ethereum, Solidity, Wagmi, Airtable
  • Supabase, Nextjs, Figma, Illustrator

STEPS TO IMPLEMENT & TIMELINE:

Most steps are expected to be completed 1 month from the grant approval date. Ongoing maintenance will happen in the first 12 months.

Milestone 1 - 2 weeks

  • Content prep: Custom banners (Static) in the ApeCoin page, with links to different ApeCoin initiatives, news, or information (i.e. article about ThankApe with CTA to Donate, Apefest highlight)
  • Front end: Access to ApeCoin page directly from the cryptoevents.xyz homepage
  • Identify ApeCoin holders and enable the ApeCoin logo to automatically show up on the “Companies Attending” section whenever a holder RSVPs to a crypto event, providing a prominent display on all major events. Example of Companies Attending Devconnect: Companies Attending

Milestone 2 - (1 month)

  • Design & Branding: Customized event page with a design and branding aligned with the ApeCoin community’s visual identity.
  • Integration with ApeCoin’s smart contracts for secure verification of ApeCoin holder status.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure the feature functions seamlessly and is user-friendly.
  • Distribution: Marketing of the page through socials to both holders and non-holders
  • Ongoing maintenance and events curation, ensuring the page remains self-sustaining and relevant even after funding runs out

OVERALL COST:

In summary, the creation of a dedicated events page for ApeCoin holders on cryptoevents.xyz, as well as the prominent display of the ApeCoinDAO logo as a company attending main events will benefit the ApeCoin community by enhancing visibility, fostering engagement, and promoting cross-community collaboration within the web3 ecosystem. We respectfully request a grant of $20,000 from the ApeCoin community to support this initiative, which aligns seamlessly with ApeCoin’s mission and values.

Great proposal, but what happens after a year when the funding runs out? Or will this be a continual evaluation to gauge response?

Thanks for your question @GuyMadden! It would be the latter - continual evaluation to gauge response.

After funds are deployed for the initial curation & general maintenance, we expect the page to eventually become self-sustaining. Once thoroughly marketed, tested and live, the page should not require active maintenance or further funds to remain engaging and relevant. However, we would evaluate as we go (e.g. if successful more features could be build on top of it)

This proposal is live for Snapshot vote at Snapshot. The voting period closes next Wednesday at 9PM EST.

The AIP implementation is administered by the Ape Foundation. Implementation may be immaterially or materially altered to optimize for security, usability, to protect APE holders, and otherwise to effect the intent of the AIP. Any material deviations from an AIP, as initially approved, will be disclosed to the APE holder community.
