Today I come with an unfortunate matter to discuss, but I need to know if there are others facing the same issue. I won the Ledger giveaway in partnership with ApeCoin last month, and I still haven’t received it. I found out that my Ledger is currently held up in Brazil postal service. In order for them to release it to me, I have to pay an import tax. However, the tax they’re charging me (as shown in the image below) is actually higher than the value of the Ledger itself, an absolute absurdity. I’m wondering if there are others in a similar situation as mine, as I’m unsure of what to do about it.
it is really sad seems not everyone could afford this tax beeing unable to receive/withdraw the gift. Here I had to get some savings to pay it, even thinking it is a rob. Anyway i saw some extra crazy things like your tax is even bigger than mine, i think you are beeing robed twice because the counties tax, and also i saw some friends that got the package rejected. Sad
Sorry to hear about that VAL… I was lucky to receive mine without getting tax… Fingers Crossed. But import duty tax differs from country to country… From my experience normally Asian Business ppl will normally sent the parcels and list the items as gifts to avoid receiver from getting tax.

Sorry to hear that. I received mine without any problems. I think you should ask for advice on the Boring Security server, because they are collaborating with Ledger. Perhaps they will be able to solve the problem, maybe they will send you a new one and take measures so that they cannot charge tax on the parcel. In any case, I hope your problem gets resolved.
I have the same problem Val, they want to charge an absurd amount of tax on the product, and we know that there are a lot of people who don’t have all that money to pay taxes and that at the same time this Ledger would make a difference in people’s lives in terms of security. It’s a sad and complicated situation!
you are in a complicated situation, I know of no way for you to get your ledger back without paying the tax, unfortunately in some countries they impose taxes without much reason.
Yeah buddy, it’s just that now here in Brazil with the new government they are taxing everything, nothing is going by without them noticing. Even if this tax amount were converted to benefit the people, but as we have a lot of corruption in the government, everything goes into their pockets, the reality we live in is sad.
yes, my country is very complicated, they tax everything. And the worst thing is that this money is not reverted to the people, it all goes into the pockets of our corrupt politicians
