Nomination Statement

Concise statement on why you are running for the Special Council

I, Derrick Del Valle (DareVader), am running for ApeCoin DAO Special Council because I’m a believer in the technology and capacity it has on the future of cryptocurrencies. I’m a fan of the community and impact the DAO has and can carry. And most importantly, I consider myself a good steward of people and what to push the DAO forward towards a focus on what what we can do, vs. what we’re limited of doing.

Motivation

Details on your motivation for becoming an ApeCoin DAO Special Council member

I have a true desire to improve the quality of life at the ApeCoin DAO. The DAO is currently fractured with hard opposing sides with no middle ground to be found. We need to enable more participation, not motivate it. Bring in people through curiosity and desire, not incentive and speculation. I knew right away I wanted to apply for this role simply because I care enough to be a part of something I believe in.

Rationale

Share relevant experience and skills that will bring value to the ApeCoin community

I have been in crypto since early 2020 and have seen the rise and fall personally. I have a personal love for DeFi and work hard to bring and make crypto and NFTs more accessible to people. I have a passion to serve and listen. I always try to extract real and raw experiences and opinions to improve of what can be done. My best skill is people and how I execute.

Specifications

Further describe relevant experience, including crypto and governance participation, and/or ideas for DAO improvement

I have years of experience in managing projects, people, and money. I’ve invested countless hours and money into the crypto space and I’m familiar with most people, involved in major communities, and close to big and small players across the space. My experience in relationships has landed me where I am today with the ability to communicate and act on my own personal goals. I collect and I build. I hate watching from the sidelines and I love getting involved. I understand that people will be kind and curious while also some will be mean and harmful. I’m okay with that, and embrace it.

Concluding Statement

Summarize your statement as to why you are the best choice for Special Council

I know I’m a good steward with plenty of experience. Voting for me is voting for someone who lives on all sides. The good, the bad and the worse. I embrace challenge and strive for success. I’m an open book with an open door policy because I’m a person who just wants to bring millions onboard with me. ApeCoin has the ability to do this. And we have the ability to get it there together.

Terrific to see you applying for the SC role, DareVader! In our conversations I’m impressed by your thoughtfulness approach to technology around the DAO, particularly staking. Thank you for the work you have done around the ApeCoin ecosystem, and I look forward to you enlightening the DAO about that in the coming weeks. Wishing you all the best.

I look forward to learning more about you through this process. Good luck!

Hi @DareVader, I am asking all candidates the following same questions:

If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your tenure within the DAO?

What is an area of expertise that you will be bringing to the table?

Are there any factors in your life that may limit your time and ability to serve? (Running a business, extensive traveling, secret agent for the SEC, etc…)

What is your least favorite thing right now with our DAO in its current state?

Currently, many of the proposals are determined by large wallets, there are many grumblings about it though I stand neutral on this; if possible, would you change this? and if so, how and why?

Will you be an active participant in the DAO even if unelected?

Thank you and best of luck,

F/S

Glad to see you running for the SC role. Wishing you all the best.
