Resignation from ApeCoin DAO Secretary Position

I did have one question as I assume you’re referring to something I may have said.

You were made secretary end of march/1st of April.

As WG budgets are only for six months, would I be right is presuming your contract/service agreement would have naturally ended around now? (6 month term being what I would have given you if I were hiring & working with a six month budget.)

I guess it’s just a coincidence if I’m right. :man_shrugging:

Just want to confirm your claim:

Tl;dr - did you resign on the exact same day when your contract/service agreement ended?

Thanks

This is a good question. If there were no resignation, would this term of service have ended naturally at about this time anway? If so, transparency being a core ethos of web3, approximately how much money have you chosen to forego earning from your current term as a result of this resignation?

lol. Exactly. I see claims of “it’s not about the money” - what money lol, your contract was up.

Due to the Secretary not being an “elected” role. I did not have any term limits as do the Stewards and SC.

Essentially as long as the GWG had budget I would remain paid. The GWG has enough budget to continue operations for at least the next 3-6 months. If you remember the AIP-317 budget that was supposed to be a 6 month budget ended up lasting the GWG 8 months.

There was no contract about to end. I walked away from $7,000 a month to do what’s right. If you’d like I can rescind my resignation and continue taking the $7,000 from the treasury?

Indefinite contract. Nice. Don’t see those at the DAO often. (I’m still trying to get a response on the administrators 1year contract.)

Ok. I asked the question. You’ve given your reply.

Thanks.

One last question actually.

Who decided on your recruitment & contract terms - GwG team, all working groups or just AllCity?

Thanks.

The GWG proposed multiple names and stewards from all working groups had an internal vote on who would be in the secretary

So who said it was an indefinite contract?

As mentioned above. BojangleGuy was selected by a majority vote amongst all Stewards, as a requirement from AIP-239.

What I’m trying to get to is, was there a term limit on said “appointment”?

He already answered you:

Seems pretty clear to me.

It’s no more an “indefinite” contract than the GwG stewards. To wit: the GwG doesn’t get dissolved. It’s a PERMANENT working group that only rotates stewards via elections. And so, as long as the GwG exists so too does the secretary that is hired to serve in that role. And thus, unless and until the GwG take a vote to change the secretary, that role remains filled. Hence the reason that if the GwG were to be dissolved as per AIP-466: Proposal To Close Non-Essential Working Groups so too would the role since it’s funded by the GwG budget. In other words, the role, if not vacated along with the GwG, would essentially be automatically defunded.

Hope that’s clear now.

Thank you for the transparency and integrity. It is highly appreciated.

Can I get an answer to this @AllCityBAYC

Did @BojangleGuy resign on the same day his contract ended?

He seems to think his contract had no end date, so could you please confirm those details. As I would expect the contract to have been for six months not indefinite.

Just so we have final clarity from you.

Thanks.

Not only was the contract up same day, compensation was being cut too. I dunno. :grimacing::person_facepalming:

@AllCityBAYC I would like an explanation as to why the compensation was set to decrease, how that decision was made - by whom - and when.
