LEC: The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) is the professional League of Legends esports league run by Riot Games in the EMEA.
VCT: The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) is a global competitive esports tournament series for the video game Valorant organized by Riot Games.
CS2: Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) is a tactical first-person shooter game (FPS) developed and published by Valve.

A dedicated bi-monthly meeting with the ApeCoin community to review the on-going topics and make sure we’re delivering expectations. Example of agenda can be:

  • V.Hive update:
    • Numbers review.
    • New features discussion.
    • New marketing operations presentation.
    • Feedbacks from the ApeCoin community.

Each semester, we will provide a complete and 360° report of the past 6 months and the projection over the next 6 months. This document will provide detailed numbers reporting.

Stand-Alone on the forum:

  • Recurring surveys toward ApeCoin management & the community to get feedback on the partnership, its roll-out and the potential new requests.

Always-on reporting for DAO top management:

  • Dedicated post-mortem report after each milestone or important operation/implementation.

  • Specific % TBD on sales related to NFTs or other initiatives based on ApeChain.

REQUESTS FOR THE APE FOUNDATION:

  • A license to use ApeKin assets within communication campaigns and specific projects linked to Team Vitality, upon respect of the specific guidelines of the DAO and Ape Foundation (quality standards, alignment with brand guidelines and overall appropriate usage).
  • Extra licenses may be requested during the partnership by Team Vitality for co-branded collaboration with ApeCoin/ApeChain such as “Fashion & Lifestyle” products (example: apparel capsule collection) and other categories TBD case by case between the DAO, Ape Foundation & Team Vitality.
  • Specific introduction with 3rd parties for strategic collaboration with companies using ApeCoin/ApeChain technology (video game editors/publishers, metaverse suppliers, service providers…), TBD case by case.

The ApeCoin DAO isn’t ready/affordable for such a big project.

Thanks LikKee for your comment. In fact, with the launch of ApeChain, it’s a great momentum to plan ambitious projects to engage the gaming/esports audience in your ecosystem.

It’s a partnership which can provide strong ROI for ApeCoin. Since the start, we have provided clear KPIs attached to our partnership proposal and we are ready also to create new revenue streams for the DAO on the top.

We are not dealing only with an exposure deal here but we are transitioning an active and plug & play Web3 Fan Engagement app to ApeChain and we will also boost all the projects from the ecosystem thanks to our reach on the gaming/esports scene.

We would be glad to discuss all these points with the community!

We can also provide more details about how this kind of partnership can serve local ApeCoin/ApeChain initiatives in Southeast Asia for example if you are based there.

While I’m personally passionate about esports and gaming, I have concerns about this proposal’s ability to drive mass adoption. The primary issues are:

  1. There’s no clear financial return mechanism for the DAO
  2. The funding appears to primarily support your development costs
  3. While jersey/logo sponsorships (similar to F1) provide brand visibility, they rarely convert younger esports enthusiasts into DeFi users

I appreciate the time you’ve invested in presenting this proposal. While I wish you success in esports, I cannot support such a significant fund allocation given the limited potential returns.

1. Financial return mechanism:

We are providing new revenue streams for the DAO, thanks to sales related to NFTs or other initiatives based on ApeChain, for example:

  • Co-branded collaborations with Team Vitality or/and its official family of partners.
  • Pro Player NFT Cards with ApeCoin Boosts.
  • Evolving NFT Collection.
  • Virtual “Fan Jersey” with Raffle for a Physical Version.
  • Using ApeCoin for Microtransactions on the Vitality Site and Shop.
  • A Vitality x ApeCoin Web3 Mini-Game.

Moreover we can showcase existing or future projects built on ApeChain which is going to drive engagement for your games and in the end additional value for the DAO.

2. Development costs:

The Tech component is a key part of the partnership, we are not dealing only with standard visibility, there are costs attached to the migration of our app and all the new features which are going to be implemented. It’s also an opportunity to collaborate with companies & stakeholders from the ApeChain ecosystem willing to work alongside us.

Our objective is to co-built a fan engagement application that will serve both brands objectives. The major features & road-map development will be collectively reviewed and validated and we really expect the ApeCoin community to pro-actively be involved within this project (e.g. features selection vote etc…).

3. DeFi users:

Thanks to this partnership, you already access multiple thousands active users each month.Through an educative and progressive approach toward Web3, we have an engaged and pro-active community that could switch to ApeChain ecosystem. Then we are confident that the gaming audience is more appealing to DeFi usage than the average classic people and we can convert them if a clear added value is shown.

The jersey logo visibility is only at the top of the funnel. We have built a tailor-made and 360° funnel where each asset of the partnership is serving the conversion of the fans.

The global partnership ecosystem and set of assets we are providing are serving complementary purposes: from making ApeCoin brand resonate through the jersey and building awareness to driving direct conversion and recruitment thanks to the contents, players operations, bridges between projects, the mobile app migration…

Each asset of the partnership is serving a different step of the funnel, from bringing awareness to ApeCoin to ultimately driving conversion and retention on ApeChain. We have built a 360° partnership plan where ApeCoin will be represented at each step of the gaming journey of our fans.

I applaud the effort. It takes some serious cajones to request $7M for a two year e-sports team sponsorship. I aspire to dream this big.

It’s great to see fellow esports teams looking to work with the DAO. Vitality is a top organization in Europe, and I have a lot of respect for you guys—I’ve enjoyed watching you compete.

That said, as someone who’s been part of the DAO for multiple years, has had their own esports proposals successfully passed, and has seen others come through, this proposal feels like the community is going to shut it down fast due to the extremely high ask to start with. I’m a big believer in beginning with something smaller and showing the DAO that you’re genuinely here to support and build the ApeCoin ecosystem.

Requesting $7 million as your first proposal, especially as a team that’s new to our community, feels like a tough sell. In my view, there’s a lack of clear value coming back to the DAO in this proposal—it seems heavily skewed toward benefiting your team.

When it comes to a proposal of this size, it’s critical that the DAO and ApeCoin are treated fairly and receive significant value in return. Coming in smaller under 500k could be a great start to a fruitful partnership!

This is great feedback and echoes much of my reaction to the proposal. Great concept, but a large ask for a team new to the DAO (as much as they may be proven otherwise).
