Resignation from ApeCoin DAO Secretary Position

It always was. What’s your point?

Aside from the fact that the role is no different from others hired by the Ape Foundation and WebSlinger on an as-needed basis - and without a vote.

Why yes, yes ofc we need more elections so that we can put even more people in “no show” job positions they’re seemingly unqualified for nor have any interest in actually doing.

Funny that you mention him because I am having a discussion - right now - on Telegram about specifically this. But, given the Horizen election shenanigans related to him - and which I took my time to painstakingly outline (1, 2, 3, 4) - I can’t say that I am surprised at all.

The microcosm is equal to the macrocosm…

Disappointing but we must move forward, hoping to count you for the future of ApeCoin DAO v2?

As usual I’m highly suspicious of this post.

I guess it’s priming us for the big change Trippy has been talking of.

When big announcement?

  • Working Groups and Stewards were a good experiment, and we did learn a lot. For some DAOs a team of stewards coming together works, however, for ApeCoin DAO the evidence says it does not!
  • This doesn’t mean WGs were a failed experiment. What we’ve seen are amazing individual contributors shine!
  • It is time to sunset the WGs in their current form - cut the burn
  • Instead, the DAO can focus on funding individuals to take charge of initiatives they are passionate about executing. We’ve seen too many great examples of projects over the past year and a half so let’s keep it going but in a more effective way.
  • Let’s release these stewards from the burden of being forced together (and those interested can still continue to work together in this new model if they wish)
  • Last, I recommend to any current steward who wishes to use the legal infrastructure already paid, go for it! We will support you. It’s simple to re-purpose it and I’m happy to help advise any of you to do so.
  • I’m very excited by this development that has been brewing for quite some time. The DAO continues to grow and evolve! Lots of big changes coming down the pipeline for Ape Coin DAO!

While there’s a lot to unpack in your post, I just want to say that I am 100% supportive of everything in it.

We don’t always see eye to eye, but the fact is that - for the longest time - I have voiced ALL of these concerns - and I have ALL the receipts to prove it. But to no avail.

I highlighted that specific part because it was precisely the impetus for my closing the three working groups, thus freeing the Ape Foundation and subsequently the DAO, to hire individuals and/or teams who can be held accountability while ensuring transparency. We absolutely cannot move forward whereby we have a broken voting system that all but guarantees and retains the status quo.

For as much as I wail, the fact remains that fixing the DAO is down to all of us - one and all; and as they say, it takes a village. But there’s no village if most of the villagers either don’t care, feel powerless - or they’re off on the sidelines looking on nonchalantly.

Words are meaningless. We must start somewhere.

Amazing you came to this conclusion only after taking $250,000 as SC, and then securing yourself $270,000 for a further two years as advisor to bananas bill. If you’d have worked it out sooner we’d have saved a pretty penny.:rofl::rofl:

OK - enough of that - and the smileys won’t change the premise. We can’t go back.

ps. Where did you get it from that he was being paid $270K per year? I don’t see that anywhere in the proposal AIP-454: The BANANA Bill: Apes Gotta Eat.

The compensation paid to each eligible Advisory Committee member will be based on their experience and skillset. However, in all cases, the total amount paid to any individual Advisory Committee member will not exceed 250,000 APE per-year, and all compensation will be subject to a 50% one-year lockup.”

Yer I think it’s been changed.

But imagine getting all that and only then realising it was broken and needs changing. I dunno mate. It’s 9pm here had a few beers so goona stop with the smart comments you right. :handshake:

Let’s see what they propose I guess. Can’t be any worse than now right, right? :grimacing::grimacing:

I just want to add here. As I can see there is speculation already. I have no idea of what the future structure will be. I have had NO CONVERSATIONS with SC on this topic. That being said I would love to take part in these conversations with the DAO as a whole and help shape the future of what ApeCoin can become.

Also, this post was shared with no one before posting other than a message sent to the GWG last night informing them of my resignation. They did not see the content of this post.

This isn’t a piece to some puzzle. This is simply me wanting to do what is best for the DAO.

Additionally, I would like to add:
I agree with this point because I’ve been working alone for too long.
The workgroup, if divided, can ensure better efficiency.
Also, I want to mention that I have worked with @AllCityBAYC@DIM@BoredApeG @Waabam @capetaintrippy for a long time.
These people are heroes of the DAO.

So far I’ve gotten paid zero. Can devs do something?

Also, if you know me, I’m an $ape coin sink.
