It’s not nuanced. We already know that authors do get KYC in the background. It’s about making the authors known to the DAO community. The Ape Foundation works at the behest of the DAO and so, the DAO is entitled to whatever info it requests. e.g. in my AIP-464: Future Election Leadership Requirements proposal, I specifically make this point about authors being publicly KYC during elections.
