The Bored Racket Club is a community within, but not limited to, the Bored Ape Yacht Club. We have the mission to bring together members of the most successful and innovative Web3 company with the most relevant sports today.

Origin Story
I’ve been playing tennis since I was 5 years old. Tennis has been the biggest thing in my life for the majority of it. Going into my freshman year of high school, I learned about NFTs. I started with NBA TopShot cards and right around my birthday, I minted a Mutant Ape! Once the Made By Apes initiative launched, I immediately envisioned a lasting community of Apes and racket-sport athletes competing in global events for prizes, hitting around for fun, and attending racket-sport events as a community. Personally, I’ve always wanted to see Wimbledon. At the time, pickleball was also becoming increasingly popular. I came up with my idea: the Bored Racket Club. I started with just pickleball paddles and have since expanded to ping-pong paddles. I plan to incorporate tennis goods and general merchandise.
Intentions for BBAC Grant
As stated earlier, I plan to use the BBAC Grant from Thank APE to expand to tennis products for more players to join the Bored Racket Club. Using my experience at Chicago’s first NFT gallery, imnotArt, I will use an Otherdeed to build a virtual world for the Bored Racket Club with my knowledge of MML. That world will contain tennis courts, pickleball courts, a ping-pong table, and a country clubhouse. Also, as a high school tennis player, people lie about line calls, scoring, and more. I plan to use the record-keeping abilities of the blockchain to never have scoring disputes again. I also want Bored Ping-Pong Paddles in fraternity and sorority houses across the country. Every frat house basement has a ping-pong table, and there’s no better place to promote our company!
Events
At the Bored Racket Club, we have a huge emphasis on IRL events to bring together the community. We are currently planning a Chicago pickleball meetup and a tournament at ApeFest 2024! To award the best Apes, we plan to use some of the $APE from the Thank APE grant as prize money.
Contributions to the $APE Ecosystem
We currently accept cryptocurrencies, including $APE, through Coinbase wallet integration. We plan to give free access to events for $APE holders and a discount when shopping with Apecoin. We also want $APE holders to have early access to technology we are developing, including the Bored Racket Club Otherdeed and on-chain match results.
