Great in theory, difficult in execution outside our little bubble.

Can you provide information that would help us have confidence that you could bring in deal flow for IP deals for these specific collections?

I think the beauty of this is it allows the structuring and standardising of IP deals that can benefit the ApeCoin DAO and community and becomes more of a service that can be offered outside the bubble.

With ApeChain coming I’m certain we will attract new builders and projects coming into the ApeCoin community who cannot afford to purchase an Ape or mutant for use in a product or project and it could push costs too high and be a barrier of sorts, this offers a solution to that problem which opens more ways to structure deals.

I for one faced this problem when I wanted to build a project and use a specific trait like an Hawaiian shirt Ape, if we have it available then I’m certain it can be leveraged correctly and deal opportunities increase naturally.

Is there any demand for this IP in the greater market? Can you point to any recent deals (let’s say the past 3 months) for IP licensing deals across Yuga / Mocaverse IP to give us an idea of what type of income to expect?

I ask because I assume there’s next to no demand outside of builders using their own IP, but I’m happy to be proved wrong.

Also Machi was given $20 million to buy apes for museums, and while we wait for them to get into museums, maybe it would be frugal to attempt to license those out? I’m not sure exactly who or what owns those apes now, but it could be an interesting cross-AIP partnership.

I dont think we even tapping into potential outside our bubble, look at Walmart and other larger corporations starting to bring different Ape products into their stores, shirts, plushies, food, etc.

Heres an example of IP being put to use https://boredip.com/. I believe theres potential if we open the door, especially with projects wanting to build on ApeChain and for the ApeCoin ecosystem.

MBA is another prime example of IP been used to break down the web2 barriers, the only issue is its on a small scale whereby owners of the Ape or Mutant are trying to utilise their own NFTs, we have a chance to take it a step further and offer a service to non holders now.

It seems like you’re trying to prove a hypothesis. Do you think you need to spend a million buying apes to do this? Is there a more lean way to go about this to prove out the concept and then ask for funding to scale once you do so?

Oh lord, not another AIP to buy NFTs. We already did this 2x, Machi (DAM) + Yat.

Assets are so inexpensive now that pretty any brand or even MBA can purchase their own instead of licensing. We’ll just end up buying a bunch of assets that will sit in a wallet and not get licensed.
