To set up an APE Coin discord channel
Motivation
This forum fits more for DAO enthusiasts, ApeCoin Twitter mostly for announcements. But there are tons of $APE holders who are craving a place to chat and hang out with other holders, and Discord will work the best.
Rationale
There is no real place for the community of holders at the moment, and it’s extremely important to build a SM space for $APE holders. One central place will ensure more convenient coordination, spread of ideas and increase of $APE value.

Agreed. We need to use tools that people are familiar with. Discord would allow serious dialogue but also a fun environment for people to network, meme, etc.
I’ve been looking for this too. Would be nice to have something other than the official BAYC and Otherside for any discussion related to ApeCoin. Would be nice to take over an unofficial discord if it has already been seeded with community members and is live, active, and running. Hoping @herb has something we can use. Happy to help in any way, especially for any NFT creation or ability to token-gate specific channels.
I was hoping that ApeCoin might acquire some Otherside land and then build a meeting place for holders similar to the Yacht Club which would enable holders to hang out and chat as 3D avatars. This is probably a while away, so Discord makes sense

I’ll bug Herb about it later. He has an existing unofficial DAO discord that is already seeded with members, like @4437 said. The channels could use updated & it’s not very active at the moment.
It’s already been setup with collab-land for BAYC/MAYC/BAKC & also holders of Apecoin. I think thats probably our best bet. I’m part of a couple more unofficial discords but they are v small / inactive.
Absolutely needed and should be a priority. We should do it right and allocate a proper budget to it to get a quality mod/admin team to run it as security is a significant concern.
