I have over 7 years experience trading, being early and active in DAOs, using DeFi and collecting NFTs with over 4,000 txns at my public ENS 0xamplify.eth and a DegenScore of 2313, rank 30 overall. I have managed significant assets with on chain investment clubs and I serve as a multisig-signer for ThankAPE, the ApeCoin Marketplace, and the Governance Working Group. I maintain a high participation rate for ApeCoin DAO voting, currently at 93.33% since 3/23/2022, or AIP-1.

Nomination Statement

Concise statement on why you are running for the Governance WG Steward

I am running for Steward of the Governance Working Group in order to finish what I’ve started, mainly, operationalizing and decentralizing the ApeCoin DAO. There are two large initiatives I would like to tackle during my time as Governance Steward:

First, I think we need an on-chain treasury, separate from the Foundation. Not every proposal should go through the Foundation, with many layers of human review elements. Many proposals have content and costs which are clear and overall of no risk to the wellbeing of the DAO, and therefore can and should go straight to vote.

Second, I think we need professional, on chain treasury management. It’s not reasonable to hold the entirety of our treasury in APE when we have no income or revenue. We have many options to diversify and deploy our assets across DeFi, cross chain, and through money market protocols and protocol aligned investment strategies.

Motivation

Details on your motivation for becoming an ApeCoin DAO Governance WG Steward

My motivation for wanting to remain a Governance Steward stems from the DAO’s founding principals of Collective Responsibility. I have been highly active in the ApeCoin ecosystem since it’s inception, with the primary goal of operationalizing the DAO.

I have been a very active long time contributor to the ApeCoin DAO since its inception, becoming the third member to reach “Regular” status on these Discourse Forums.

I have been active and helpful on Discourse since the beginning of the DAO with 485 days visited and over 15,800 posts read on the forums: Profile - Amplify - ApeCoin DAO

I think we’ve successfully built out an Organization, but we have yet to Decentralize or become Autonomous. There’s still a lot of work to do in that respect. While we’ve successfully improved the AIP processing times, the fact remains that the AIP process is cumbersome, with too many layers of review to ensure a vibrant and evolving ecosystem.

I have been working in DeFi and DAOs since 2017, starting with Maker and Synthetix.

In my time at the DAO, I have authored or co authored six AIPs, all of which have passed. AIP-126: Provide ApeCoin Brand Assets - AIP-200: Add Abstain to Snapshot - AIP-239: Working Group Guidelines and the Governance Working Group Charter - AIP-317: ApeCoin DAO Governance and Operations Budget - AIP-347: Enable DAO Wide voting for Working Group Stewards & AIP-196: BORED AIP: Bringing Order and Reliability via Ecosystem Decentralization.

Most of my experience is verifiable on-chain through my public ENS. I have over 4,000 transactions and a degenscore of 2313, rank 30. I am in the top 5% of users in all of DeFi & NFTs that have shared their address for ranking: 0xamplify.eth's Beacon | DegenScore

I have interacted with almost every single DeFi and NFT protocol that exists. I am a highly active governance participant in Gearbox, Nexus Mutual, ApeCoin DAO, 10b57e6da0, & DyDx. I’ve spent hundreds of hours pouring over improvement proposals across dozens of DAOs and have written more than a few myself.

Concluding Statement

Summarize your statement as to why you are the best choice for Governance WG Steward

In order to create valuable governance mechanisms with active contributors, we must address existing shortcomings in our grants process. It is too burdensome, and too slow to create meaningful change. Furthermore, we need to diversify and deploy the treasury in a meaningful way if we ever want ApeCoin staking to be anything other than dilutive to the ecosystem.

Truly, I don’t have the words to express the level of knowledge and clarity of process that Amplify has brought to ApeCoin DAO.

Since I joined the DAO in September of 2022 and became of member of ApeComms, Amplify has been a knowledgable DAO regular. When we were elected/selected to work together as WG0 Stewards in January this year, Amplify was the one who brought his encyclopedic knowledge of the Governance structure and processes of other DAOs together to drive the exploration & construction of what would today become the official Working Group structure of ApeCoin DAO. Furthermore, as a DeFi native he understands the implications of financially impactful proposals, staking incentives, and treasury best practices like no other- key knowledge needed to successfully guide our DAO to sustainability.

I can say with confidence that Amplify is a backbone of governance within our DAO, and I hope he will continue to serve ApeCoin DAO for many years to come. Amplify, thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with us all!

@Amplify 's genuine commitment, coupled with a deep understanding of ApeCoinDAO and its governance, sets him apart as a candidate with a unique and valuable perspective. He has been instrumental in pushing the DAO forward and I wholeheartedly support his candidacy.

@Amplify was one of the first people I met in our DAO. When we connected, I remember thinking, “He’s good… and he’s really, really nice.” Since then, as I’ve gotten to see and work with him in so many different contexts around the DAO - I’ve gotten to experience what everyone else here sees too:

His heart bleeds ApeCoin. He’s always here, helping, asking how he can make a difference. He invites people in. And he always tries to do better than yesterday. I feel grateful for his contributions to our DAO and can’t wait to see what comes next.
