Who Are We?
We are a group of friends passionate about tattoos and art, united under the name “Torch.” We have initiated several art projects with unique and creative approaches.
What is TGL-Tattoo?
TGL-Tattoo is another project where we aim to use tattoos as the main medium. In a digital world full of art, where many types are trying to leverage NFT technology, tattoos remain an art form rarely discussed. For various reasons, we want to make tattoos something collectible and transferable. And this project is also officially licensed by Yuga Labs (MBA #00576)
Why Set a World Record?
For us, tattoos are more than just art. They serve as a way to capture a moment in time, allowing the wearer to remember that moment. A perfect tattoo should tell a story that leaves a lasting impression on the collector and carries meaning for the person getting it. Creating a world record is not only about introducing new challenges to the NFT world but also about amplifying the reach of BAYC and reinforcing the idea that this community is a space for genuine creativity.
How Will It Impact Bored Ape?
We believe this world record attempt will bring BAYC into the mainstream media spotlight, helping people to remember and recognize Bored Ape more. This will directly impact projects like MBA and other Ape-related ventures.
Beyond attracting new members and making the community larger and stronger, this effort will also draw brands to collaborate with Ape’s NFTs to build their own brand image.
Our project’s marketing strategy is similar to the “Skinvertising” approach, where famous brands like Domino’s Pizza, Wall’s (ice cream), and Tinder have used tattoos to stand out and grab media attention.
Through collaboration with Guinness World Records, BAYC will be among the first NFT projects to challenge new frontiers in Web3.
Affirming BAYC’s leadership, along with its remarkable and strong community that drives innovation, will give BAYC a positive image of openness, attracting talented and new members to the community.
The story behind the tattoos makes participants proud, and the Bored Ape story will be shared with friends and on social media.
Who Are the Volunteers?
Most volunteers are customers from our partnered tattoo studios, with some being familiar with Bored Ape and others not (making this a great opportunity for them to learn about Bored Ape and Web3). However, all volunteers love tattoos and, most importantly, appreciate the Bored Ape designs.
All volunteers meet the Guinness World Records criteria.
All volunteers agree to enter into a legal agreement with us that they will not use the BAYC tattoos they receive for commercial purposes or cause harm to BAYC in any other way, and they agree to accept any risks that may arise from future tattooing.
Volunteers will receive a certificate from Guinness World Records stating their participation in this project.
Detailed Project Process
After all tickets are sold and all customers are registered, we will contact Guinness World Records for official confirmation of the record.
Equipment and Tattoo Artists
- We will work with more than 220 tattoo artists from across the country, all of whom are our partners.
- Preliminary discussions indicate that we will receive support for tattoo equipment, including tattoo beds, needles, and ink, from companies in the industry.
2,500 Volunteers
- We have been recruiting volunteers from across the country through our partner tattoo studios since February. The current number of volunteers is close to the record we aim to set, but we are still accepting an additional 3-5% to account for any unexpected events where some volunteers might be unable to attend on the actual day.
Location
- Thailand
Preparation and Tattooing Timeline
- It will take 3-4 months to prepare after all tickets are sold.
- The actual tattooing will take 5-7 days.
- We will working continuously for 24 hours. Each tattoo will take 2-3 hours to complete, thanks to all designs being prepared in advance, allowing tattoo artists to work immediately without delay.
- We will set up 120 tattoo beds in rows of 12 beds, arranged in 10 rows. Each row will have two assistants at both ends to support the artists, with a rotation of tattoo artists every 6 hours.
- Volunteers will arrive one day before their scheduled tattoo session, with accommodation and amenities provided.
Tattoo Counting
- Guinness World Records officials will count and record every tattoo.
Participation
- Those who purchase tattoos will be allowed to observe the tattooing process on the actual event days (registration will open again).
- We will live-stream the event so people around the world can witness the new world record being set.
- We plan to open a sales booth with MBA-licensed products and will display NFT Art of emerging artists (will open for those interested to register later).

“In a world where everything is digital, there are still some things that remain analog.
This is a tattoo that is not just art, but a world record”
