Thank you @BoredApeG, @badteeth, @mantis, @NFTC, @POSTGRID, @dyorjdr, @capetaintrippy, @furiousanger, @Apeancestor, @wrongplace, and so many others who’ve contributed to this thread and these important conversations. This is servant leadership. This is governance. This is community.

Count me in as one more helper as we figure out how to make a better DAO tomorrow. Given all the substance already here, I’ve been thinking about how I might make a small contribution to this thread. I’ve settled on sharing a few hopefully grounding thoughts:

1. DAOs are a grand experiment in their (our) infancy. What happens when a distributed, decentralized, largely anonymous community gets together and decides to self govern? The answer is still largely unknown; we are creating it with every contribution we make to this moment.

2. ApeCoin is a poster-child of the DAO experiment. We are one of the largest DAOs and we have a community mandate to “drive culture forward into the metaverse”. But we don’t have a roadmap and we haven’t yet agreed on what our mandate means. We are just now making it up together.

3. On our road to self-definition - or any road to self-definition - it’s normal to fu** up constantly. it’s even a requirement - because nobody knows how this DAO experiment goes. The only way to find the “right” path is to be willing to bump into enough walls and get hit by enough cars.

4. Here’s how we don’t get killed along the way : We notice that every contribution - whether it ultimately proves helpful or harmful - is vital for our learning and for our growth. it makes us better because it either shows us the way, or it shows us a way we don’t choose as our own!

5. Here’s how even seemingly immortal communities often die: people become fixed in their views… feedback stops flowing… egos take the place of reason… cults of personality take the place of diverse opinions… anger, vitriol, defensiveness replaces truth, respect, inspiration.

6. Based on the conversations happening here and across the entire DAO right now, I believe we are building a foundation for a healthy DAO. This moment - however it goes - will propel us to greater heights because together we are willing to listen, learn, teach, and be better.

7. The path - however our community defines it - must be toward decentralization. Ours is a DAO experiment (decentralized, autonomous) with regulatory considerations. Thus, we must encourage the decentralized contributions we value across our entire community in every way we can.

8. As we build more infrastructure, governance, and people processes that support a well-functioning DAO, we’ll create immense value. Still, we must remain restless. It’s never over. We can always improve. There’s a whole world that can be better because of our voices, our vision, our ApeCoin DAO!

I love joining the ApeCoin community, and traveling with everyone in this journey. The Otherside Metaverse was born and the ApeCoin DAO is the largest with lots unknowns. I love everything what you said! We all contribute more or less, we all appreciate our differences, we welcome everyone!
