Nomination Statement

As a member of the Special Council I will bring the same integrity and passion for a decentralized future that drove me to join BAYC on May 1 2021. The future of entertainment, culture, and community is in the NFT space, and ApeCoin represents the first wave into a legitimate marketplace and ecosystem for the Metaverse and beyond. I want to join the Special Council to help guide our community down the right path, staying true to all of our original visions while continuing to innovate and scale for a new decentralized future. As someone that comes from, and is exhausted of WEB2 and the traditional entertainment industry, I will bring intimate knowledge of WEB2 systems and how to avoid their pitfalls with an uncompromising approach.

Motivation

The Ape ecosystem has become an integral part of my life, as an OG Bored Ape, I have been here every step of the way, contributing to community collaborations, engaging with community members on Discord and Twitter, and meeting fellow members in real life at community events, both OG and new, all while maintaining a 60+ hour work week in Film and TV.

As an ApeCoin DAO Special Council member, I will be able to focus my energy full time on preserving the integrity of the community, and representing the voices of our members, however small or large their holdings are, with transparency and the same collaborative energy that brought us all here in the first place.

Rationale

My work in entertainment is inherently collaborative, and my teams constantly bounce ideas off one another to collectively land on an idea of how to move forward. We must always predict what may go wrong, and plan for such occurrences on a tight deadline and budget. As Special Council member I will bring an analytical mind and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to manage deadlines to meet community expectations with transparency.

At the start of my career I worked on music videos for Steve Aoki, and created a clothing line with photo shoots by the Hundreds go-to photographer. In my music career I’ve toured internationally, meeting people from all over the world, and managed tour logistics and budget. I was a part of this space before it grew into what it is now, and have the insight to usher in the next phase of Web3.

Working on Star Wars, I preserve the integrity of a massive IP every day I go to work and ensure that the original vision of the universe is upheld with integrity. In the same way I will help guide the ApeCoin ecosystem and projects under its umbrella to ensure our community values and legitimacy is upheld.

Specifications

I’m a member of two unions in Film and TV, and actively participate in proposals and discussing new terms. I’ve actively participated in the DAO governance of other projects.

My degrees in Political Science and Philosophy with a focus on Political Theory mean I have training in how political systems work, how people react to different political outcomes, and different systems of governance, quite literally.

For any new user, DAOs are intimidating. While they represent the core of decentralization, they can also be daunting to people with little cryptocurrency knowledge. As the community grows, we must do more to make DAO participation more inviting to users new to the space.

Concluding Statement

In 2017 I started my daily journey of cryptocurrency research. I became obsessed, reading every article I could find and watching every video I could see, in a mission to understand. I would dream about the potential of collectibles on the blockchain and discuss the possibilities with film colleagues about how the tech could completely disrupt the current industry model. Then I found NFTs, and it clicked. I dove into the space, the flames of my obsession fueled, and my research of crypto shifted to NFTs. When I came across BAYC on May 1st 2021 there was no question in my mind. I attended the first Venice Ape meetup, 10ktf at NFTLA, ApeFest 2 and surrounding NFTNYC events. I’ve collaborated with multiple other IPs, and check in with communities daily even with a now demanding 60 hour per week film schedule. I’ve been here for every twist and turn this space has taken, and I’m never leaving.

As an active member of BAYC, ApeCoin, Otherside, 10ktf, MythDivision, Deadfellaz, Jenkins, the Hundreds, Forgotten Runes, Skullx, Gala, Animo, and so many more communities, web3 and decentralization is my life. I will bring a lifetime of experience in traditional entertainment to the Special Council, and will work tirelessly to uphold the values of DAO governance, decentralization, transparency, and community representation with every breath and keystroke.

I know what Web3 can be because I know first hand what Web2 isn’t.

1. If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your tenure within the DAO? (Let’s pretend you only had the time and energy to make a personal push for one item - what would it be?)

2. Are there any factors in your life that may limit your ability to serve? (conflicts of interest, time allocation, limited wifi bc you work from Starbucks… etc)

1. If elected, I would like to see the culture of the ApeCoin DAO established. What does this mean? Bored Ape Yacht Club launched with a clear culture and lore behind it, laying the groundwork for members to step in, utilize their IP, and push the brand further. Right now, our DAO lacks the culture and storytelling to keep members engaged. We talk a lot about outreach to traditional web2 brands, I believe the opposite is necessary. Reaching inwards to our builders that have been and still are building for the web3 space will create a stronger foundation for web2 brands to want to use apecoin. We have the future leaders of the space already here, and if we support them in building a decentralized, web3 future, the rest of the world will notice.

2. No, I currently work 60+ hours a week on major IPs in the film2 space, limiting my current ability to contribute as much as I would like to. By redirecting my focus full time to the Special Council, I would be here 24/7 and contribute 60+ hours a week to communication, research, analytics of AIPs to uphold our values of Boldness, Equality, Transparency, Collective Responsibility, and Persistence.

3. My least favorite thing about the DAO in its current state is that it feels so much like a DAO. DAOs are not degen or NFT MFer friendly. At face value they are stale, complicated, and intimidating. This is not a fault of our current leadership but rather the inherent nature of a DAO itself. For this reason I would like to change how we interact with DAOs to something more engaging, inviting, and true to our degen nature that got us all here in the first place.
