Hi @Grimyfrankie, I am asking all candidates the following same questions:

If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your tenure within the DAO?

What is an area of expertise that you will be bringing to the table?

Are there any factors in your life that may limit your time and ability to serve? (Running a business, extensive traveling, secret agent for the SEC, etc…)

What is your least favorite thing right now with our DAO in its current state?

Currently, many of the proposals are determined by large wallets, there are many grumblings about it though I stand neutral on this; if possible, would you change this? and if so, how and why?

Will you be an active participant in the DAO even if unelected?

Thank you and best of luck,

F/S

Hey foxSlightly,

Sorry for the delayed response, switched my ENS to a new address a few days ago and had to fix my account settings because old wallet didn’t have any $APE in it. Also because I am relatively new and had to figure out this clunky ui and like 4 different website logins lol

If elected, one item I feel passionately about and would like to see accomplished is not only a L2 or apechain of some kind to facilitate speed and cost effective transactions needed to fulfill the original overdue web3 gaming utility promises, but a memecoin token associated with the L2 that appeals to new “culture coin” markets or meme buyers in any potential bull and allows for much greater treasury flexibility or reward flexibility (one quick example, incentivizing extra staking rewards for people who stake longer through the unlaunched secondary token, or considering lowering APR on ape-only pool to rates competitive on exchanges but supplementing the pools with secondary token staking rewards. Read more about this in detail toward the bottom of my rant (theoretical token calling it for now $APE2 or Apecoin 69: Turbo).

One other thing I would be pushing for is for the the DAO bring back 10ktf weekly shows as “Sponsored by Apecoin” or “ApeCoin Original” style production. I think this would resonate with one of the strongest communities in web3, and 10ktf is already built to be one of the biggest sources of apecoin buying pressure due to its integral crafting and recycling functions. It’s one of the strongest, loudest, earliest examples of web3 gaming. I think attempting negotiations with Yuga to bring these weekly shows back with ApeCoin funding would give Apecoin a very positive public image and I speculate a net positive return in some ways - would onboard tons of thankful new users to the DAO who are already fluent in the interworkings of web3, and significantly increase buying pressure by bringing attention back to those gamified 10ktf functions that spend massive $APE.

Areas of expertise I think I bring to the table include media, marketing, and international business and economics education. I think returning to the basics and exploring fundamental economics and marketing solutions will work wonders for $APE

I do run a trading card business but at this point I have it mostly run by hired workers and I can work as much as I want to at that job at my discretion. All of my other work situations are similar in that I can choose when I perform my work and how much time I want to dedicate to them. I’m also frankly addicted to working and generally find something productive to do from 9am to midnight or later. I feel confident in my ability to allocate more than enough time to apecoin, I’m guessing I could make it a full time 40 hour a week gig without affecting my other income streams. I am def not a narc for the S.EC

My least favorite thing about the DAO right now is that it seems like it’s set up in a way that makes it hard for newcomers to participate. I think there are a lot of problems but that to me is the biggest problem. I have tons of ideas and it’s tricky to communicate them. Too many niches to understand for people who aren’t chronic dao participants - why isn’t there an app (not official for everything apecoin already etc.?

I think centralization of power due to large wallets is a huge problem. This is like a core issue that was solved by democracy which is why I think it is so funny and ironic that in DAO’s seeking a decentralized solution to real life issues, they actually created a system similarly abusable through concentration of power. I’m sure if I say anything against what are effectively these major special interests at this point that I would instantly lose all chance at winning election, but one way someone could explore reducing this problem is by limiting or eliminating the ability to delegate your voting power to another wallet.

If unelected I don’t think I will be an active participant in the DAO just because I honestly am so annoyed by the UI that it is not an enjoyable experience. It feels like homework to navigate these websites and I am doing it right now because I am running for SC but if I were a normal user I would get over this experience very quickly. If the user interface was improved significantly or an app was developed that makes this way easier (even the fake friendtech-style websites you can copy to your phone’s homepage) I would probably start engaging because I’ve invested my own money in $APEcoin and have done so for a long time. I care about the investment but the level of hoops I think turns off the average user

Thank you for your questions. I also just want to add that I applied the day before the deadline so I didn’t understand this application post would be public. I basically fed one of my resumes to ChatGPT and asked it for help framing the answers to the application which I then rewrote. I don’t think much of my experience listed in the initial post is pertinent or explains why I would be a good candidate. So I want to add this general campaign overview of my ideas below to supplement the original post:

I am runnning for apecoin Special Council. Apecoin DAO needs someone that can ask stupid questions (me). Someone DOWNBAD on $APE with no airdrop who doesn’t play web3 games. I want to focus on neglected areas which include marketing and meme culture campaigns, foundational economics, creating reasons to buy $APE, and making DAO participation accessible to non-nerds.

I want noobs that think apecoin is a funny speculative meme that’s cheap on coinbase to have incentive to buy. I want people to think of apecoin as the culture coin with the largest market cap. I want utility seekers and gamers to have a reason to buy.

I want either an APE-Chain or an L2 capable of processing quick and cheap micro transactions necessary for Apecoin to fulfill its web3 gaming promises, but I also want the majority of people who don’t give a damn about DAOs or web3 gaming to have incentives to buy and be comfortable holding $APE. I don’t just want an L2 or an Ape-chain - I want a secondary $Apecoin utility and culture token that gives the treasury an effectively free or dirt cheap way to gain flexibility and enhance rewards (let’s call this theoretical token $APE2, “ApeCoin 69: Turbo” or something). $APE2 Rewards would be accrued by $APE participants months before $APE2 launches/drops. I want time based bonds that give greater staking yield or rewards depending on the length that people have staked their $APE - and I think that could be done with $APE2 if it can’t be afforded in $APE.

I want apecoin to be thought of by the public as the NFT coin, not just the web3 gaming token. I want an Apecoin cross-chain nft marketplace that offers $APE2 incentives to buy NFTs in $APE only.

I want a bunch of pretty UI apps made for each utility of Apecoin, such as DAO participation, staking, and voting, and I want them setup in that fake easy fren tech way where they can just be added to phone homepage rather than going through process of making app and getting approval from App Store. I think transparent daily or weekly reports written so 5th graders could understand them and a prettier user interface for the forum are necessary for informed public understanding and DAO participation, and those should be available on X.

I think that the DAO’s team should volunteer to be paid in a set amount of $APE, and to have that ape staked or locked up until the end of each term. This is a no brainer, I consider variable USD payment to be a conflict of interest where incentives are plainly misaligned.

I want to keep current staking pools essentially as is or proportionally adjusted, and I want to make new, competitive but limited APR pools more publicly accessible through major exchanges like Coinbase. I want new people that want to stake through major exchanges to have an available pool that offers significantly lower rewards than other pools, but apr still competitive on exchanges. The highest ones on coinbase rn are cosmos or polkadot with 10-11% ish APY and they held up better than $APE during the bear. Funding for this new lower-APY pool would come directly from the $APE-only staking pool, which is the only one I propose reducing. I want to explore additional alternative rewards for $APE holders in the traditional $APE-only staking pool, like NFTs or $APE2.

I want minimal to no funding for AIPs for businesses which do not even accept $APE as a checkout method. What justification do these grifters possible have for taking millions from the DAO and not paying an extra thousand or two for an accountant that understands cryptocurrency payments? I want to aggressively shut down initiatives that don’t directly benefit the DAO, or Apecoin (even if those proposals are made by OG Apecoin members or people with BAYC pfps). With that said, I think $Apecoin disregarding rewards for Yuga NFTs entirely is a comical mistake considering they share a logo with BAYC and were made for each other, and I believe that $APEcoin is basically worthless without the support of the NFT community. But, I think we have enough $APE-funded cafes that only take credit cards.

I want marketing to look much more like a memecoin and to include professional, dedicated meme campaigns on all social media platforms, with gamification, incentivization, and promotion with proper disclosures. Scamcoins and phishing links have better guerilla marketing tactics being employed, see the meteoric 1-day rise of “$portal” (not indicating its a scam or not I don’t know anything about it). The same audience as $APE are the people farming rewards guerrilla marketing for $PORTAL.

I want everyone to have a reason to buy $APE, not just DAO participants and web3 gamers. As a general speculative statement, I believe that the community would likely be happier if Apecoin had a higher price.

I think the DAO needs some outside thinking from someone that hasn’t internalized knowledge of perceived DAO limitations and challenges existing barriers. Consider voting Grimy for Special Council

I think I am the only candidate who has promised to lock my APE awarded for 6 months. Bigbull is running for Governance Steward.

Glad to see you running, all the best man!
