Resignation from ApeCoin DAO Secretary Position

I am just going to say it. If the DAO finds a way to put me in charge, I will put together a team and find a way to fix our DAO. At ZERO cost.

While we’re on the subject or transparency and accountability, back in July, we allocated a $100M fund to a group (not the advisors - that’s not their role) that apparently doesn’t believe that they are accountable to the DAO. And so, they’re basically ignoring this: Implementation Update | AIP-454: The BANANA Bill: Apes Gotta Eat

$100M!!!

And I have already - three times now - sounded the alarm that based on the experiences of my team and others, something isn’t quite right over there.

$100M!!!

And as of this writing, they have yet to sign a single deal under that fund and which is to the benefit of the DAO in terms of revenue. Not one. But they are still getting paid.

Also, we’re almost at the end of Q3/24 and aside from the fact that ApeChain has yet to launch on mainnet, not even our devrel guy could tell me - of all people - when ApeChain mainnet will launch even though he already has guidance on the launch. And I’m not even sure which party (Ape Foundation, Arbitrum, Banana Bill) hired him and who he answers to.

Despite the fact that we have some capable people (Wabaam, BoredApeG) in the Special Council, we seemingly have the makings of a shadow govt. that’s running our DAO while the treasury gets pillaged with impunity. And we can’t do anything about it. Which explains why a thread like this Ape Foundation Transparency Report - 2024 - Q1 - and which should be exceptionally alarming, is barely a memory now.

There are so many issues and challenges in the DAO, that a thread like this is just the tip of the iceberg, and is arguably the bravest thing that I have yet to see anyone around here do.
