Due to unforeseen circumstances, however, it did not pass.
I have since collected feedback and updated my resubmission.
The Apemobile will now be a BMW instead of a Porsche.

I wish to forgo the 7-day AIP Idea phase and would like to enter directly into AIP Draft phase.

PROPOSAL DESCRIPTION:

ApeCoin needs more marketing. Period.
It’s not easy to stand out and get the attention of people nowadays… so, we need guerrilla marketing.

Guerrilla marketing is a highly effective strategy due to its ability to deliver high impact at a low cost. By leveraging the psychological impact and viral nature of unconventional tactics, it has the ability to generate significant buzz and engagement.

KOL partnerships and brand ambassadorships are a proven model in web3 and are widely adopted by top-tier projects in this space. To date, ApeCoin does not have a single partnership of this kind.

This AIP offers a bold mix of the above mentioned :muscle:

Educational content and marketing by kodama.eth - amplified by the Apemobile!

An ApeCoin branded BMW (an M3, 4, or 8 Competition).
Custom license plate.
ApeCoin branding such as but not limited to the ApeCoin logo on the tank cap and “Powered by ApeCoin” writing.

The car will be called Apemobile and will be established as status symbol of success within the whole web3 space. Leveraged by a multi-year partnership with web3 KOL kodama.eth and the targeted use of guerilla marketing tactics in order to amplify educational content around the DAO, ApeCoin & ApeChain.

The car will be a tool to polarize and get attention.

In an endless X feed you need to stand out. You need to grab the attention and once you have it, you use it to educate and make them one of us :wink:

NOTE: The Apemobile can be leveraged by the whole community. Not just kodama.
The pictures can be used by everyone.

The AIP author will work closely with the Marketing and Communications working group, who have the option to opt-in to particpate, to maximize the benefits of this initiative.

Kodama has a large, engaged following within the web3 community. Partnering with him will significantly increase the brand’s exposure and reach the crypto native audience on an ongoing base. This is a cool idea and it sounds like you’re definitely the guy to do it.

Definitely true. Lambos are especially loved. You mentioned a BMW or Porsche. Why not a lambo?

Would it be possible to expand on what happened?

Will any metrics be baked into the proposal? Also, will there be oversight from a third party such as the MarComms Working Group?

I initially chose a Porsche because it holds its value very well and at the end of the 3-year period the sales proceeds go back to the DAO.
BMW was added because Yuga Labs has a partnership with them (ApeFest HK 2023 e.g.) and exciting synergies could arise here.

Thriller because the AIP was winning and in the last minute a big voter that was inactive for 2 month came out of nowhere and voted against -.-
On top of that another even bigger voter broke his cold wallet and could not restore it in time. With his vote the AIP would have easily passed in the first place.

There will be reporting on the events/meetups/etc visited and also transparency on the performance on socials. There will be no oversight from a third party. Implementation is difficult and tbh the content is publicly viewable every week anyways.

I do not think a custom APE license plate will have any value. If it has value and I can resell it - I will return the proceeds to the DAO as well. However, I have not heard of a custom license plate secondary market yet tbh.

So you wanted 185,000 for a Porsche and now you’re asking for 210,000 for a BMW.

Hopefully fails even quicker this time around.

I’m thinking we move what excess treasury there is left to the banana bill and put a stop to all this nonsense “in the name of marketing” every two weeks.

Since the BMW models have more horse power than the Porsche, insurance and taxes are slightly higher each month.

BMW just don’t cost this much, even an M850i is less than 100k. Not buying your claim that insurance is greater for a BMW. Engine size is just one of many factors and if that’s adding 5k then I wonder how much of a risk the insurance company see. This is also a significant risk for the APEcoin brand. It isn’t a company car that only does company business. God forbid, you have an accident, and someone gets hurt; what then!

For me, it just sets a poor tone for the DAO to give out brand new personal cars in the name of marketing.

Its unnecessary marketing that could end really badly.

Would be good to clarify which model, which country/city to buy from?

Most likely an M4 Competition and it will be bought & registered in Austria/Vienna.

I did a test drive with an M4 Competition and tbh this car is just perfect as it is. A BEAST with insane power and sound.
