We are 3look (Website / X ) – a team of dedicated ApeCoin DAO members with a history of executing AIP proposals successfully. We aim to contribute to ApeChain’s success by making it the epicentre of the growing meme economy. Through 3Look’s innovative SocialFi meme platform we will onboard millions of active users into the Apechain Ecosystem.

Since AIP-182, we’ve consistently delivered on all features and continued to expand our product with new solutions driven by user feedback and market demand.

Here’s a snapshot of our current track record and progress at https://3look.io:

– A user base of over 37,000 active content creators including KOLs and whales who choose 3look as their go-to place to create content;

– 100+ partners and integrated projects including NFT collections, crypto, farming platforms, marketplaces, and other web3 brands on different chains (ETH, SOL, Polygon, ADA);

This proposal presents 3look, the first full-fledged SocialFi Meme Platform built on ApeChain, designed to revolutionize the meme economy with a powerful mix of a transparent on-chain reward system, social mechanics, and ease of content creation.

We live in the “Meme Age,” where new meme coins are created daily, and almost every project leverages memes in their campaigns. Projects often gain attention thanks to active communities spreading the word, striving for a pump that will yield significant benefits for all holders and bring further income for the project.

But let’s picture a space where users know they will be rewarded for sharing content about projects they like and interacting with it – it would result in more memes created = more people discovering new projects = growth and benefits for all ecosystem participants.

Community pages – the platform’s standout feature that lets brands cultivate vibrant hubs where fans can create and share on-brand memes using various tools and assets. Users can complete tasks to share messages directly to X with specific calls to action, creating a ripple effect of organic content.

Tasks – public or private assignments set by brands or individuals to promote their content on X. The tasks can include standard interactions like boosting a post with likes and shares or creating content using a specific template or asset. In addition to boosting posts and creating content, we plan to include additional tasks such as: Participating in community challenges or contests where users create themed content. Engaging in platform-specific events designed to encourage interaction among users. Referral programs that reward users for bringing new participants to the platform.

3look will track users’ progress and automatically reward them on-chain upon task completion. The reward distribution process will be fully automated through smart contracts on ApeChain. Given our plan to be a chain-agnostic platform, which accepts transactions on various blockchains and cryptocurrencies, all rewards and fees will be automatically converted or bridged to ApeChain without any manual intervention. This ensures seamless and efficient reward distribution.

User Security and Transparency

3look prioritizes user security and transparency through a decentralized approach:

• Wallet-Based Authentication: All sign-ups and logins are authenticated via wallet connections.
• Optional Social Authentication: Users can opt for social authentication through third-party providers like X, with the process managed by the third-party securing a transparent environment while maintaining high standards of privacy and control.
• Audit Process: Prior to product launch and AIP completion, a full security audit will be conducted and the finalized ‘passed’ audit results will be publicly available on the platform.

3look Revenue Model

Revenue Stream:

• Social Task Fee: 3look retains a percentage of the reward pool from each task.

Revenue Model Details:

• Task Creation: Users and brands set tasks and lock reward pools on-chain.
• Task Completion: Participants complete tasks within a specified timeframe.
• Reward Distribution: The platform automatically allocates rewards, retaining a fee from the total reward pool.
  • The fees will be calculated as a small percentage of the total reward pool allocated for each Social Task. This percentage will vary depending on the task’s specifics and will be transparently communicated to users and brands setting up the tasks.

Example:

• A brand/user sets a task with an $X reward pool.
• 3look retains a fee.
• The rest of the reward pool is distributed to participants.

The model ensures a consistent revenue stream for 3look by retaining a fee from all tasks conducted on the platform, with the percentage potentially being dynamic depending on various factors.

Payment System

3look is planned to be a chain-agnostic platform, accepting transactions on various blockchains and cryptocurrencies. However, all rewards and fees will be automatically converted/bridged to ApeChain, boosting transaction value and supporting ecosystem growth.

The platform usage for users will be entirely free. As outlined in the Revenue Streams section of the proposal, 3look will earn a commission from Social Tasks, with the fees being taken from users or brands that set these tasks. However, we are considering introducing premium features or memberships that could offer enhanced user experiences, such as advanced content creation tools, exclusive templates, or higher reward multipliers. These premium features would likely be priced in $3look tokens, and the pricing will be competitive to encourage broad participation.

BENEFIT TO APECOIN ECOSYSTEM:

User Onboarding: Establishing the SocialFi Meme Platform will allow us to onboard thousands of new users to ApeChain, including large influencers and KOLs who’d contribute to establishing ApeChain as the premier chain for consumer-based dapps.

Enhanced Transactional Activity: Every SocialFi campaign or task initiated by 3look users will require bridging the reward pool funds to ApeChain from any supported currency, increasing transaction numbers.

Increased Transaction Volume: As all rewards will be systematically distributed on-chain, users will be incentivized to create and use ApeChain addresses, boosting overall transaction volume.

Deflationary Pressure: 20% of the platform’s profit from SocialFi tools will be securely held in $APE within a public wallet, creating deflationary pressure on the coin price.

Airdrop for supporters: All proposal supporters will get a $3look token airdrop upon its launch on ApeChain, which is planned to take place after the platform’s launch.

Positive Public Image: Facilitating the SocialFi platform and providing immediate access to thousands of active users will enhance ApeChain’s reputation among projects, including those from other chains.

One-time Support Leading to Long-term Benefits: We view this ApeCoin DAO funding opportunity as a portion of the capital that will enable us to build the most essential and priority functionalities of the platform. To implement the entire vision described above, we commit to continuing development and further enhancements using our company’s resources.

The portion of the resources we are requesting from the DAO will be utilized to accelerate development only. Beyond that, we will invest our own funds while continuing to bring benefits to the ecosystem.

This is similar to our current efforts with the first version of the platform, where we provide ApeCoin holders with free access to extra platform features and a community area with exclusive ApeCoin content, support ApeCoinMarcomms initiatives with exclusive content, and more.

Branding and Intellectual Property Usage: As part of our integration with ApeChain, 3look may require rights to use ApeCoin and ApeChain branding and intellectual property. This usage will be essential for displaying the platform’s association with ApeCoin and for highlighting that the platform is powered by ApeCoin, given that ApeChain will be the blockchain on which the platform operates.

It is important to clarify that 3look will retain all rights and ownership of the product and any intellectual property (IP) created. ApeCoin DAO does not gain any legal or commercial rights to the product or IP developed by 3look in any way.

DEFINITIONS:

UGC – User-generated content;

Meme Economy – refers to creating, distributing, and monetizing internet memes within decentralized digital ecosystems. It allows creators to earn from their content through on-chain rewards for posting branded content, leveraging blockchain technology for transparency and community engagement.

$3look token – Utility and reward token planned to be launched on ApeChain following the launch of the updated 3look platform.

Bridging Reward Pool Funds – The process of transferring or converting reward funds from various blockchains to ApeChain for distribution and use within the platform.

Deflationary Pressure – Economic effect where a reduction in the supply of a cryptocurrency, often through holding or burning mechanisms, increases its value over time.

On-Chain Reward System – A system where rewards are managed, tracked, and distributed directly on the blockchain, ensuring transparency of transactions.

Cross-Chain Reward System – A mechanism that allows rewards to be earned and used across multiple blockchain networks, with automatic conversion to a specific chain like ApeChain.

Settlement Layer – The blockchain layer responsible for finalizing and recording transactions, ensuring that all financial activities, such as rewards and fees, are settled and verified.

REPORTING EXPECTATIONS:

To ensure transparency and keep the community informed, we will report to the DAO upon completing each phase detailed in the “STEPS TO IMPLEMENT” section.

The reports will include progress & financial overviews, team updates, challenges and risks, next steps, and additional KPIs. We are committed to providing regular reports for as long as the community deems necessary. Initially, we plan to offer detailed reports at each step as outlined in the “Steps to Implement” section of the proposal. Following that, we will continue to report quarterly or as requested by the community, ensuring transparency and keeping the DAO informed of our progress.

All reports will be published on the ApeCoin DAO forum and 3look’s social media.

OVERALL COST:

Total amount requested from the ApeCoin Ecosystem Fund = $243,000.

Tech & Platform Development

To ensure smooth operations and timely progress, it would be ideal to allocate all funds upfront. Some questions if I may:

1. this seems like a Grant fund request. I.e you don’t expect to repay the amount either via equity in 3look or Royalty payments to the DAO. I’d like to ask why you feel the DAO should approve this as a grant rather than a venture capitalist project where equity or a return on investment would be expected.
2. what makes your offering stand out, worthy of grant funding over any other future proposal. I.e why now.
   3)if rejected, would you do this anyway by other means? I’d like to understand your confidence in your business model.
3. have you had any discussions with the banana bill team about this? Why should this sit outside of that funding pool?

Regarding the deflationary lock-in, our current plan is to lock the ApeCoins in the wallet indefinitely, but we are open to evolving this strategy over time if it benefits the DAO and the community.

1. We believe that we’re building a completely new product that leverages the awareness and brand of the previous version of 3look. It has the potential to bring significant value to ApeChain, the ecosystem, and therefore the DAO. Given the value we aim to provide, we feel that this proposal merits grant funding in the first place.
   One of our focuses is definitely on community benefit and ecosystem growth, which aligns with the principles of a grant.

2. I believe our proposal stands out due to the unique benefits it brings to the ecosystem, and aside from new users, enhanced transactional activity, volume, and other benefits we described in the proposal, the implementation of this concept on ApeChain before something similar is done on other chains will be an advantage for the ecosystem. It lets me assume that these elements collectively make our offering timely and deserving.

3. Yes, we are committed to developing this project regardless of the DAO’s decision. However, securing the DAO grant will significantly accelerate our progress and enable us to build the core functionality more efficiently. We have kept our funding request within reasonable limits, ensuring that the grant will cover the essential aspects of the project. We are also prepared to invest our own resources to further develop and maintain the project, ensuring it becomes a stable and profitable venture that not only benefits ourselves but also the ecosystem and DAO.

Regarding Banana Bill, we plan to apply for funding from that pool as well, either as initial capital or to scale what we’ll build with the potential grant funds. We are open to discussing royalty payments to the DAO if such a mechanism exists, and we welcome all suggestions to find a mutually beneficial solution.

Thank you for the response. Very clear and transparent.

No further questions to your responses on 1-3.

In terms of royalties. I’m too new to know if there is a process, but if there isn’t; there needs to be one. Your AIP asks to use APE coin and APE chain branding and to me this shouldn’t be free. And I say that not to create issue with your AIP, it is more generic than that. An annual Royalty should be paid to have hold this status above other business that use the chain. Otherwise we may get flooded with businesses pushing AIPs just to use the DAO IP(branding). The DAO branding should be like a coat of armour that signifies loyalty, excellence and the DAOs stamp of approval. only one business in any one sector should hold it. What stops a future competitor copying your platform, grab the IP as well through an AIP and creating confusion with a poorer version of your business model.
A fee, that doesn’t break the bank, but solidifies the relationship would be good. This should have terms that increase the fee annually based on performance and can be revolked at pre defined points if the business is not performing or stopped trading. It protects you, and it protects us.

Personally, I would add to your proposal that you will pay a fee for the use of the IP and that you reserve sole right to using it for the purpose of your platforms offering. - at that point bring the legal experts in to agree the terms and conditions of use and fee structure.

Put simply, this is currently a franchise model and I wonder if it should be a licensing model.

My other thought on royalties is that the meme has an ape &3loop logos on it as default and a very small fee is paid (like a premium account holder status) to produce the meme without. The DAO gets half of this small fee.

I feel we are done paying for visibility and we should focus more on what you are returning in terms of funds back to the DAO.

I agree that ThankApe is doing a tremendous job in providing visibility for the DAO. We’ve been partners for quite a while, and collaborated with them by offering our content creation tools, creating special content, and even setting up a dedicated content hub page for specific ApeCoin content-related contributions. We’re not aiming to duplicate their efforts but to complement them.

Our focus is on building an efficient SocialFi Meme platform with promotional and content creation tools that can be utilized by any brand or individual in the space. This, in turn, will draw people to ApeChain, as it will be required to utilize the platform’s full functionality.

So is the DAO going to receive a part of the 3look token airdrop as a way of appreciating them for funding your proposal???

As for allocating part of the 3look token Airdrop to the DAO treasury directly alongside the community distribution, we believe it’s totally possible if the procedures allow it. However, I’d like to note that the token launch is planned after we implement all the commitments in our proposal and isn’t part of the proposal itself.
