Proposal Description:
“The first ever IRL live-streaming web3 fundraising event”
Bored Angels is an IRL event to be held at Apefest, USA, between October and December 2025. As one of the world’s leading blockchain and web3 conferences — and the most significant for the Yuga Labs ecosystem — this event seeks to secure sponsorship from ApeCoin DAO to host a Shark T- style Web3 project pitch competition, connecting startups with leading investors and venture capitalists (VCs).
Led by FundSpring and produced by Boring Yachts, Bored Angels will feature a dynamic stage hosted by “Jana Crypto Queen” where 10 Web3 projects, selected through “Spring Method”, will pitch to four of the most influential investors, called “Angels”. These investors will have previously received due diligence on each startup, and where they will negotiate and invest live. This will take place in front of an IRL audience of investors, founders, BAYCs, KOLs, and more, and will be streamed via OVI for the entire global community. The goal is to drive innovation within the ApeCoin and Web3 ecosystem by fostering meaningful collaborations and expanding ApeCoin’s presence in the Web3 community.
Benefit to ApeCoin Ecosystem:
The Bored Angels event is strategically designed to provide both short-term visibility and long-term value to the ApeCoin and ApeChain ecosystems:
- Strategic Positioning for ApeCoin: As the main sponsor of the event, ApeCoin will receive prominent branding across all touchpoints — from IRL stage presence to digital live-streaming overlays — ensuring it remains central to one of the most anticipated community-focused events during ApeFest 2025.
- Investment Access for ApeCoin Holders: All projects participating in Bored Angels will accept investment in $APE, increasing real-world utility for the token. Additionally, ApeCoin holders will have early access to claim free general tickets and participate in project selection and the community vote for the 15,000 $APE prize.
- Ecosystem Expansion on ApeChain: Projects building on ApeChain will be prioritized during the selection process, and the event will actively encourage teams to deploy their solutions or tokens natively on ApeChain, helping grow the network’s adoption and on-chain activity.
- Data-Driven Performance Tracking (KPIs):
- +350 IRL attendees from the ApeCoin and Web3 ecosystem
- 10 curated startup pitches with detailed due diligence (Spring Method)
- At least 4 investment deals closed live or post-event
- 15,000 $APE distributed via community voting process
- +1M total impressions across marketing campaigns
- Livestream reaching 3,000+ viewers via OVI and X
- +15 applications for Angel investor participation
- At least 25 projects filtered and evaluated using the Spring Method
These measurable indicators will help evaluate the event’s success in real-time community engagement, $APE adoption, and ecosystem onboarding.
Additionally, ApeCoin will be the headline sponsor, aiming for prominent branding and visibility in the context of ApeFest 2025, reaching over +350 IRL attendees IRL and thousands more online through live streaming and social media.
- Web3 Startup Pitches:
Ten carefully selected Web3 startups will present their projects to a panel of “The Angels” Each project will have a 5-minute pitch session, followed by live feedback and panel Q&A. - Meet the Angels:
Four investors will listen, ask questions, and be able to invest in the startups. Three of them will represent important investment funds in the web3 industry, while the fourth Angel will be chosen by an open vote for 7 days for Apecoin holders. An open application form will be available for those interested in participating as the fourth Angel. - Spring Method Selection Process:
Projects will be selected using the Spring Method, a due diligence framework that evaluates tokenomics, business models, and scalability. This ensures that only high-potential projects aligned with Web3 innovation are featured at the event. Only projects Made By Apes or directly related to Apechain/Apecoin will be taken into account. - Live Streaming and Global Reach:
The entire event will be professionally live-streamed on Ovi, with simultaneous streaming on X, ensuring maximum accessibility for the global ApeCoin and Web3 community to participate and engage. - Live Fundraising:
Projects that approve this feature, will have the chance to open a live fundraising round during the event, allowing the audience to invest in token presales or other opportunities, via live streaming platform. - The Community’s Favorite:
A grant of 15,000 USD on ApeCoin will be awarded to the winner of a community vote held during the live stream, ensuring that the people’s voice determines the most promising project. - Exclusive VIP Networking:
A premium VIP lounge curated by FundSpring will host key stakeholders, including investors, prominent ApeCoin holders, and founders, fostering strategic connections and discussions. - Public Attendance and Ticketing:
A live audience will enhance the energy and interactivity of the event:- 80% General Admission Tickets: Distributed via Tokenproof, requiring a minimum holding of ApeCoin in attendees’ wallets. These tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 20% VIP Tickets: Reserved for BAYC/MAYC holders, DAO members, KOLs, and investors, requiring wallet validation. VIP attendees will have exclusive access to the networking lounge and additional perks such as reserved seating and personalized merchandise.
- Return Generation for the DAO
For every successful investment made through Bored Angels, 5% of the invested amount will be retained by the initiative. This will be split into a 2.5% return for the ApeCoin DAO (distribution will occur once funds are received by startups, expected in May) and a 2.5% return for FundSpring, ensuring mutual benefit and aligned interests.
