Concise statement on why you are running for the Special Council
I’m Hazel from Hong Kong, a dedicated member of ApeCoin DAO and the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Furthermore, I’m the founder of the Chinese Ape Club (x.com) and BAKC Group (x.com). Through continuous engagement with diverse Ape communities and ApeCoin holders, I have recognized several challenges and opportunities confronting the ApeCoin DAO.
- Lack of engagement in DAO among ApeCoin community members.
- The Ape NFT communities (BAYC/MAYC/BAKC) are not actively participating in ApeCoin DAO governance.
- Insufficient promotion of ApeCoin’s culture has resulted in a lack of new participants among ApeCoin holders.
Bridging the Gap:
ApeCoin has its roots in the Bored Ape Yacht Club community and should maintain strong ties and growth within that community. As the founder of two Ape communities, I specialize in community communication, development, and execution. Over the past year, I have hosted offline events in five distinct regions and played a pivotal role in Yuga Labs’ Ape Fest in Hong Kong. My intention is to leverage these community-building experiences for the DAO community, establishing a robust connection and communication channel between Ape NFT holders and the DAO.
Sharing the ApeCoin Culture:
In my role as a part-time university lecturer, I’ve disseminated knowledge about web3 and Ape culture. Moreover, I’ve forged connections between Ape culture and renowned brands and personalities such as Supreme, Lane Crawford, NTWRK, and J Balvin. This alignment with the core values of Made by Apes has allowed me to effectively promote nuanced cultural elements. My intention is to bring these valuable experiences to ApeCoin DAO, preserving and expanding its culture and values. I am committed to executing a comprehensive cultural dissemination strategy, establishing efficient communication channels, and bringing ApeCoin to IRL.
Bringing New Blood:
Over the past two years, I’ve globally promoted Ape culture, with the goal of not only engaging Ape and ApeCoin holders but also disseminating Ape and DAO culture to a broader audience, enticing new enthusiasts. I will leverage my network of resources and community advantages in the Asian region to make ApeCoin more widely known, cultivate a love for Ape culture, and infuse the ecosystem with a continuous influx of new enthusiasts.

All is about love
My love for ApeCoin culture and the BAYC community is the driving force behind my candidacy. Over the past two years, I’ve traveled to more than 10 countries and regions, engaging with over 500 Ape holders. As a co-founder of the Chinese Ape Club and BAKC Group, I’ve organized events in diverse locations, including Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and beyond, fostering connections among Ape communities worldwide. Almost every month, I visit different locales, using various platforms to disseminate Ape ecology and culture. This includes collaborations with Japanese malls for Ape pop-up stores and exhibitions, as well as showcasing Ape co-branded products in Lane Crawford stores across six locations. Recognizing the global nature of DAO and Ape culture, I am committed to establishing connections across regions and with all holders.

Throughout my journey as a community builder, orchestrating events on a global scale, I’ve attentively listened to the voices of everyone involved. It’s evident that a significant portion of the Ape NFT community has limited engagement with the daily workings of DAO and lacks a comprehensive understanding of its operations. I’ve identified a disconnect between the BAYC and ApeCoin communities, recognizing the crucial need to bridge this gap. Ape NFT holders play a pivotal role in the DAO’s ecosystem. I facilitate global exchanges between communities, exemplified by hosting the Ape Cosplay Party and happy hour event during Apefest. My goal is to act as a connector, nurturing collective enthusiasm for building DAO. I am committed to translating the community voices I’ve heard into tangible actions, ultimately enriching the ApeCoin DAO community and the broader ecosystem.
From DAO and for DAO
As a member of the DAO, I bear the responsibility of transmitting ApeCoin culture to the new generation and integrating it into real-life scenarios. Previously, I propagated Ape NFT culture both online and offline, leveraging Web2 and Web3 channels for dissemination. I delivered lectures at the university, aiming to instill Ape culture in the younger generation and provide them with more opportunities to comprehend Web3. I collaborated with Web2 & Web3 media to spread Ape and community culture, organizing more than five international exhibitions and various other activities. Every effort I contribute is voluntary, driven solely by my membership in ApeCoin DAO.

As an actively engaged female participant in the Asian community, I am dedicated to bringing ApeCoin culture to diverse groups throughout the Asian region and fostering global connections. My aspiration is for individuals from various regions, age groups, and genders to actively engage with ApeCoin, cultivating a genuine passion for its culture. Additionally, I played a role in contributing to Yuga Labs’ official Apefest event in Hong Kong, organizing three side events to facilitate understanding of ApeCoin’s culture among diverse regions, NFT communities, and Web2 enthusiasts.

I am a founding member of both the Chinese Ape Club (CAC) and BAKC group, both of which operate as DAO organizations. Over the past year, we have fostered connections among Ape communities spanning 20 distinct regions and unifying a community of over 500 holders. My belief in the transference of community-building expertise from the Ape community to fortify and unite the ApeCoin community forms the basis of my approach.
Functioning as a cultural facilitator, my commitment lies in translating NFT culture into tangible real-world scenarios and broadening the awareness of Ape culture. During multiple visits to Japan, I strategically propagated Ape culture in traditional marketplaces, eliciting interest across diverse demographics. Notably, I successfully introduced Ape culture to prestigious department stores such as Lane Crawford in Shanghai, Chengdu, and Hong Kong, simultaneously showcasing Ape co-branded products. Collaborations with esteemed entities like the U.S.-based Supreme brand and the NTWRK platform, both online and offline, were orchestrated to engage the younger generation in comprehending Ape culture. I am confident in my capability to seamlessly integrate ApeCoin culture into the tangible world, cultivating a profound understanding among the next generation.
In my capacity as a part-time lecturer at the university and as the secretary at the School of Culture and Arts, my specialization lies in imparting knowledge on NFT and web3 culture to the younger generations. I extend the influence of NFT culture into novel domains, orchestrating exhibitions at prestigious locations such as the Hong Kong Peninsula Hotel, Japan’s PARCO shopping centers, and Malaysia’s Sunway Resort. These initiatives have not only garnered considerable media attention but have also successfully engaged the public. Recognizing the imperative nature of cultural heritage, I consistently incorporate Ape culture into my lectures and speaking engagements at universities and forums. Looking ahead, my strategic vision involves diversifying the dissemination channels and amplifying the impact of DAO through multifaceted approaches.
I have previously held the position of Director of Corporate Management and Finance, overseeing the efficient utilization of resources and implementing fiscal policies to align with the DAO’s objectives. In my role, I will also be responsible for supervising DAO service providers, building trust and garnering support within the DAO community.
Drawing on my background in media, I bring relevant resources and expertise to effectively communicate brand culture. My goal is to propagate the fundamental principles and ethos of the DAO, converting more individuals into advocates and contributors to the DAO’s advancement.
In the realm of web2, I pursued a degree in medicine and actively participated in regular medical clinics throughout my academic years. My dedication to volunteer work extends to providing services and assistance to those in need. Notably, I facilitated a philanthropic collaboration between the esteemed brand Supreme and Ape IP. I am committed to upholding these principles and values within the ApeCoin DAO.

Crypto governance participation:
X Circle DAO
I created and initiated a DAO primarily focused on Web3 OGs and Influencers. Collaborating with a co-founder based in Malaysia, we established a platform in the form of a DAO that connects projects with influencers. We implemented a series of mechanisms to provide our DAO members with a sense of belonging and profitability. Through media and cultural promotion, I molded X Circle DAO into a valuable DAO. Our DAO members actively participate in building on X.
Chinese Ape Club & BAKC Group:
I am a founding member of both the Chinese Ape Club (CAC) and BAKC, both of which operate as DAO organizations. I have taken CAC from its inception to over 500 members today and BAKC from its establishment to over 200 members. My extensive experience in both participation and management within DAOs positions me well for the work in ApeCoin DAO, and I believe these experiences will contribute significantly to my role.
Ideas for ApeCoin DAO Improvement:
I have devoted myself to serving the Ape community and expanding the influence of Ape. With a background in community building, organizing cross-regional community gatherings, and globally promoting Ape culture, including delivering lectures on Ape culture at universities and integrating Ape culture with well-known Web2 brands for promotion, I bring a wealth of experience. Regarding the current main challenges of ApeCoin DAO, I believe I possess the capability to optimize them.
Addressing the disconnect between ApeCoin DAO and the Ape NFT community, I deeply recognize the significance of community. Drawing from my experience in Ape community building, I aim to replicate and enhance these experiences into ApeCoin DAO for more profound optimization. My objective is to strengthen connections and interactions among Ape communities globally, fostering closer relationships among ecosystem members.
As a member of the ApeCoin and BAYC communities, I will leverage my years of experience in Ape community development, cultural promotion, and DAO governance to contribute to the enhancement of the ApeCoin DAO community. Serving as a community connector, I aspire to unite and build the DAO community, incorporating feedback to co-create a broader ecosystem.
Addressing the issues of insufficient community participation and cultural dissemination within ApeCoin DAO, I will utilize my experience in media work and Ape culture promotion to devise improved methods for information sharing and dissemination. Historically, I have focused on external communication of the entire ecosystem through various channels, including traditional media, exhibitions, artist collaborations, and brand building. I intend to leverage my experience and resources to advocate for DAO more broadly through media and various in-real-life (IRL) methods, making DAO more widely known beyond Web3 and non-Web3 communities. This aligns with the expectations of the Special Council for DAO.

I firmly believe that ApeCoin DAO and Ape represent the future of Web3. At this crucial stage, ApeCoin DAO must intricately integrate the entire ecosystem, consistently attract new contributors and builders, and establish a resilient ecological cycle for limitless potential.
I possess the knowledge and skills to effectively execute and elevate the sense of belonging and participation among community members. Leveraging my extensive experience in community management, I will spearhead the establishment of the ApeCoin community. This involves organizing community-building activities, creating platforms for information exchange both online and offline, and actively encouraging members to participate in AIP initiatives.
I will forge close connections between the ecosystems of the Bored Ape Yacht Club community and the ApeCoin community, fostering communication and interaction among global holders. As a founder of the Ape community, I am the most suitable individual to implement this optimization plan.
For ApeCoin to transition into a new phase, it must attract a substantial number of new members and foster collaborative construction. Presently, ApeCoin culture lacks widespread dissemination, primarily reaching Ape holders and those familiar with Ape culture. Utilizing my experience in expanding Ape culture to Web2 and fostering collaborations with renowned brands and artists, I am the ideal candidate to broaden and propagate ApeCoin culture.
If elected, I commit to dedicating 12 hours a day to DAO construction, ensuring sincere responses to every community member and contributor. My goal is to facilitate enhanced development within DAO and externally expand the philosophy and culture of DAO/Community, encouraging more individuals to become advocates and contributors to DAO.
