Happy 2024! With the new year comes a number of exciting updates to the ApeCoin DAO.

In addition to the new team members, the passing of AIP-362 has shifted the AIP voting cadence from once per week to bi-monthly. Voting on AIPs now takes place on the first and third Thursdays of the month, and lasts 14 days.
An ApeChain Request for Proposals (RFP) is now live, calling for all interested builders to submit a proposal for the construction of a dedicated ApeCoin blockchain that scales $APE and supports the growth of the ApeCoin ecosystem.
- Ongoing proposals related to ApeChain may opt for processing through the RFP (Request for Proposal) process.
- Present contenders include Arbitrum, Optimism and zkSync, with the submission deadline set for January 11, 2024 at 8pm EST.
- There will be a Community Feedback period from January 11, 2024, to January 31, 2024, during which ApeCoin DAO members can reply to the Discourse posts of the proposals, in order to ask questions and seek feedback.
- On February 1, 2024, an ApeCoin DAO-wide vote to select the successful ApeChain proposal will go live on Snapshot. The vote will close on February 7, 2024.
As part of AIP-267, the Treasury Dashboard tab was recently deployed. The purpose of this dashboard is to address a lack of transparency around the ApeCoin DAO treasury. It includes a live counter that tracks the DAO treasury, treasury address, and more. The Treasury Dashboard can be found on the right side of the main navigation bar at ApeCoin.com.
