AIP Name: AIP-297: An NFT Community Vault Operating as an ApeCoin Sister DAO with a Goal to Advance the Mission and Influence of ApeCoin

Abstract Summary: The objective of this proposal is to position ApeCoin as the web3 culture token to power the broader web3 ecosystem. This proposal aims to secure 750,000 APE to acquire NFTs which represent various cultures and also with a certain level of influence in web3. The acquired NFTs will be managed via a community-governed vault, voted by the sister DAO members, and open for $APE holders to utilize the IP with potential grants in $APE in the near future. The initial deployment of $APE for NFT acquisition will be operated and decided by the Committee.

Interview Q&A: The Facilitators conducted an initial interview in January 2024. After not receiving a response, the team reached out again in March 2024, and once more in May 2024.

A year after the proposal’s passing with still no response from @yatsiu, the Facilitators conducted another follow-up on Jan 7, 2025, and continue to await a response from the author.

Hi ApeCoin DAO,

The author of this AIP has not yet provided their required monthly progress report to the community regarding the ongoing status of their proposal’s implementation.

The author has not responded since the passing of this AIP at DAO vote on September 20, 2023. We urge @yatsiu to respond in this comment thread with any updates.

Following Yat’s update on X on 20th December 2024, we would like to share an update re: AIP-297 to date:

  • Total NFTs acquired: 108 (out of 139)
  • New additions (token claims):
    • 8.3 ETH of $MOCA (from acquired Moca NFTs)
    • 134.1 ETH of $PENGU (from acquired Pudgy Penguins NFTs)
  • Vault valuation (including token claims): 447.39 ETH
    • In terms of USD: $1,935m (81.72% :up_arrow: since November 2023)
    • ⁠In terms of $APE: 3.15m (319.5% :up_arrow: since November 2023)
