How we get THERE from HERE

I wanted to move this to a new discussion in recognition of @DIM great Spaces today with Garga.

So, now that we know what Project Dragon is and isn’t, despite not knowing the current status of Otherside, it’s clear to me that while others are moving along, and without any insight into what’s coming to ApeChain, we here continue to lag behind - everything.

After today’s Spaces with Garga, the reboot partnership news last week now makes even more sense when you take Project Dragon into context. However, as a competitive team based shooter - in a sea of so many others - what’s going to set it apart? Why would gamers want to play it? What’s the growth path? Who is the target audience? These are all the same questions asked of Dookey Dash Unplugged - and which now seems to have been all but sidelined.

And now we learn that Project Dragon will also have periodic [combat] events.

These are all games, and I’m in support of any game that’s fun and worthy of the time and money spent on them. And so, I look forward to seeing how PD plays out in the coming months because hopefully if we get to build ACE, we can convince Yuga to allow us to plug it into our platform.

Garga also stated clearly that there are currently no plans to bridge all Yuga IP to ApeChain. However, as my focus is purely on games and entertainment, not lifestyle brands, I am not going to get into that particular bit and the implications.

Since I arrived here over a year ago, I have always advocated that we should give some focus to games if we wanted to increase participation and boost our community chances of survival. All of that didn’t go as planned; though last time I checked, we’ve only had two or three worthy game projects come through here. And now, over a year later, not only do we not have any games, everyone is suddenly paying attention to the fact that games are the single tangible funnel for growth.

Regardless of what Yuga does or doesn’t do, it’s clear - as it always has been - that the future of our DAO lies in our own hands. And ApeChain isn’t likely to address that because, again, that’s a massive heap of unknowns for a chain that’s already playing catch-up right out of the gate.

We simply cannot rely on third-parties - even if they are part of the DAO by virtue of owning $Ape token. Our engagement alone, coupled with the declining value of the token and branded NFT assets are substantial evidence of this salient point.

It’s primarily why I spent several weeks building the ACE project proposal which is a platform and environment - not a game (It is a fact that Web3 people don’t actually care enough about games) - that has something for everyone. If we don’t build it - or something like it - we are likely to lose. Again.

And that’s specifically why I remain stubborn in sending it to DAO vote because if it fails - regardless of whale wallets (I can pull voting metrics to gauge community votes while discarding whale wallets) - it will let ME know how much interest there was for it from the community. And if it does fail the [community] vote, as I have already stated that I will NOT try again - like others before me, I too will exit the DAO. And for good this time because there would be nothing left for me to do here.

Moca News

And speaking of which, in case you didn’t read the astounding TON + Moca news this morning, I invite everyone to go read it (below), then ponder the implications.

We are excited to announce our strategic partnership with TON blockchain to grow the interoperable consumer network. Together, we are driving true consumer crypto adoption!

Project Dragon is a team-based conquest style FPS - with monthly events planned.

They’re not building ApeID. Because they want to later create a custodial wallet, they are using Twitter SSO for Project Dragon - which means Otherside as well because why would they use something else?

So, we can now stop speculating on whether or not “Yuga is working on ApeID”. They’re not.

As per this proposal, my vision of ApeID goes beyond being just an SSO. And so, it can also be used to sign in to any app that supports it - while earning engagement based rewards.
